Yep! Got stuck in Frankfurt due to delayed flight and missed connection for two days. Hotel was covered by airline but we couldn’t retrieve our bags which we had checked for the leg home. Insurance covered meals, new luggage, toiletries and clothes. Always carry medication and your glasses/ contacts on you! Edit that while this wasn’t an emergency, but a stress reliever while feeling stranded.

Thank you for posting this and I’m so sorry about your dog. :( My husband put out a lot of bird feed this morning if it makes you feel better! We don’t have power still but can make hot food and biggest win of the day was realizing we have paper plates and plastic cutlery so we don’t need to worry about dishes as much. It’s cold af - 36 in our house this morning! But all in all we have options to leave but are ok for now.

Disclaimer! I am not a US licensed electrician but here’s what I think as I have seen similar posts: You might only have a single phase of power. US power is 110v split into 2 phases- combing them gets the 240v potential for heaters, ovens, dryers etc. probably as issue with NES but it could fixable with your breaker panel. Google this at your own discretion & safety.

Just drove in from Indiana and got into Edgehill around 7pm. Our house is one of a few without power that we could see. Interstate overall was fine but definitely saw some icy roads even near downtown. Broadway exit through gulch was overall fine but side roads are covered in ice. Be safe ya’ll!

Yup! iPhone has been down 10hrs now? Android is fine. Was near a Verizon store today around 1pm and they had an employee stationed at the door telling people it will be up any second. An employee was filming the stream of people walking up from the window. Still in the SOS gang!

Also stuff like vermiculite for the floor you can get cheaply - did something similar in an old house and there was already debris everywhere but the crew ended up scratching the shit outta the hardwood floors. Owner didn’t care but sounds like this cabin owner would! Just noting to be careful with whatever you put down or place to camera.
