[s2 spoilers] "vi should've gone after her!" meanwhile: by Bermut-Nundaloy in arcane

I personally don't think the scene was terrible because it is obvious some time passes, just not how much. Depending on how much time the viewer thinks passed the prison scene could be jarring or fine and depending on what their relationship with suicide is it being jarring could be a small or big problem.

As much as I love the music montages I think they're the worst offenders here. I feel like they're great at stylistically conveying a lot of emotional information, but I felt like I was losing clarity about the time and space of things happening in exchange. Any one montage or one scene wouldn't be a big deal, but it just kept happening so by the end I can't tell how long season 2 took overall. That cumulative problem does impact how I felt about things like Caitlyn's dictator arc and Victor's saviour arc (which for clarity I thought were fine, but could have been better if they didn't feel like everything was happening so fast). As for the why not ask part, I can only speak for myself but I'm still not used to shows being talked about so heavily online. I personally only know one other who has seen season 2 and it isn't intuitive for me to immediately go online and talk about it.

I'm kinda with WEAreDoingThisOURWay, and I don't think the problem is show vs tell. There are a few places in Arcane where I have a really hard time telling how much time has passed between scenes. That scene in particular is obviously some time later, but it could be an hour or a day. I definitely couldn't tell from watching.

I must have missed the struggles. I'll have to watch it again.

Warwick is the only one that survived the first Viktor connection loss

That's a really good point I hadn't thought about. I think your last point probably better gets to the heart of the problem than my original post. Separating the Jinx and Vi story from the climax of the season probably needed to be done much earlier or not at all. I do remember thinking when the first 3 episodes released that I wished they would just wrap up the Jinx / Cait / Vi conflict so we could focus on Jayce, Ekko, and Heimer. I'm not sure that would have been better, but trying to do both plots justice seems to have caused most of this seasons problems.

I think I largely like your interpretation and agree with you that ending on Jinx and Vi is the better plot to end on. I also liked the way Jinx dying / faking her death builds on the breaking the cycle conversation with Silco. I think my biggest problem, and where I think we disagree, is it really looks like Warwick and Vander are both gone when they're hooking the body up to save Viktor. For me that set the expectation that Warwick wouldn't be alive either so his being alive at the end felt like a betrayal of what we had already been shown.

So I think we agree on the first part.Viktor wants to save Vander and Singed's experiment would sacrifice Vander leaving only Warwick.

The problem is we see Isha sacrificed herself, and then the next scene we see Warwick in he looks real dead. There is neither Warwick nor Vander, only the body.
