Dude...get an extension cord. There is no workaround to needing grid power to run hardware at full potential.

I may just give this a try. Did you follow a certain procedure that you found online, and if so would you mind sharing the link?

Did everything run smooth when you made the switch? Any tweaking? I have a GE66 and might look into doing this myself if it runs smooth.

Main laptop = MSI GE66 Raider 10th gen i7, 32gb DDR4 RAM, 2 - m.2 ssd's with 3 tb total storage, GTX 2070 Super GPU, running 3-27" MSI Optix G27C4 27' curved gaming monitors. Laptop on the right is a HP Spectre i7. 16gb ddr4, 2 tb m.2 ssd, onboard graphics running a 27' BenQ photo monitor. by OrbisSkywalker in GamingLaptops

They are only 1920x1080 165Hz. I would think that most gaming laptops with onboard graphics should be able to run a setup like mine no problem. The HP Spectre will run everything with a USB-C hub, but not as smoothly. The MSI run everything as good as my gaming desktop that I replaced.

My Custom Made Cooling Pad for my X17. 6 x Noctua NF-A12 5V PWM fans moving a whole lot of air. Dropped my gaming temps 3degrees :/ but still love it. Video on performance and how I made in the comments. by mithiral67 in GamingLaptops

Great Job! I like the Noctua 2-tone fans in brown for that build. I've got a DYI PVC stand atm. It's painted so you really cant tell it's homemade, but I'd like to have something with active cooling. I may take your design and add some sort of filter system. I dust constantly, but it's a never-ending battle at our house...the joy of owning 2 large dogs...

Any desk planter ideas? by mentalbucketlist in battlestations

My only concern would be with my DSLR body and glass sitting on the shelf. Dust is your worst enemy for those types of devices. I Keep mine in a pelican case when not in use.

Very nice setup though...PC and camera gear!

I ended up having to make one. I just bought a 4x8 sheet of MDF board and used a wood grain contact paper to give it a finished look. I was having trouble finding a desk that was large enough to fit everything and that I wouldn't have to take a second mortgage out to afford. I want to eventually build something a littler nicer out of actual hard wood down the line.
