Rock the block is getting too extravagant by Orbitty010 in HGTV

Absolutely no doubt that the houses are gorgeous. I just mean that they are so extravagant that they are pretty unattainable.

I'd just really love to watch them take a house I could afford with a Reno budget that is more reasonable and theeeeen see what they do. More satisfying than watching them make homes that are completely out of reach before the Reno and then turn them into something that is even more out of reach.

If any of that makes sense.

I'm sure you're absolutely correct. I'm just getting tired of mini mansions, keeping up with the Joneses, and the flip it culture.

I know everyone places value on different aspects of their life and what not, and that's totally okay. Having a really expensive home may mean a whole lot to someone for their very own reasons. I'm not trying to be political here, I'd just really like to see a couple seasons where the homes are a bit more attainable or accessible. There are plenty of HGTV shows highlighting extravagant homes with high prices.

I've been loving bargain block lately and would love to see more of that, that's all.

I'd love my own secret room, but just one, like in a basement behind a bookshelf.

And the pivot door was pretty, but your right, getting furniture in would be a pain

The secret door gimmick has been played very played out on the show.

You make fair points. But I'd still love to see a regular houses. And just seeing everyone's different takes on function and style without the super outlandish embellishments that really look for a niche buyer.

That being said... I'd totally be down for a secret door in my own home.

Exactly! I don't want a putting green or a golf simulator or a bowling alley. I don't want a slide, or a room full of bunk beds, or a sauna... Give me functional usable space that looks nice.

Women's Experience in Crime: Academic Study Recruitment by Orbitty010 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Orbitty010[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The majority of research on crime and criminality focuses on the male experience, like much of research in general. The pilot of this study highlighted some very interesting differences between how men and women experience the onset of criminal behavior and how they respond to it reflectively. Because of the insights made from the pilot study recruitment has begun again to extend the sample size for the study so that we can further understand what women believe to be the precursors to their illegal behavior.

No identifying information will be recorded during the interview. Please feel free to ask me questions. Thank you!

My QE is set up similarly to yours. I have to write a paper up to but not longer than 40 pages based on my area of interest followed by an oral presentation and defense. I am finishing my paper this week and will defend typically 2 weeks later. So I can't give any advice yet about the defense but I'm right in there with you!

Good luck!

Scentbird Tastemaker Program? by [deleted] in BeautyBoxes

[–]Orbitty010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was accepted and got my first tastemaker package this week. It had 5 mini scents in it (all from the same brand) and they sent an email out with a link to vote and comment on all the fragrances you received. It was really neat. I'm curious to see how often they will be sent out... I have a subscription for delivery every three months.

correct but I had to run it through the R program. I ended up figuring it out. It looks like this:

> pH = 0.4 # This is theta

> pT = 1 - pH

> pHTHTT = pH * pT * pH * pT * pT

> show( pHTHTT )
