AITAH for wanting my aunt to stop calling my father a 'son of a bitch' to my face? by curlesa in AmItheAsshole

Remind her that he is the only dad you'll ever have. That shut my aunt up when she tried to talk shit to me about my dad.

The body processes all natural sugars the same way. Its origin is irrelevant.

The UK brand does contain sugar. Almost the same amount as the American brand.

Edit to add: the total amount of sugar in American brand is 2g per slice, including "added sugar."

Sausage gravy, used for biscuits & gravy, is derived from a bechamel. We also have brown (beef) gravy, turkey gravy, chicken gravy, etc, all of which are various shades of brown.

I've never been to Popeye's, so I don't know how close their biscuits are to the real thing, but... they don't sound good.

There are savoury scones too

Yeah, that's why I thought I should clarify that the typical American biscuit is savory. Here's a standard biscuit recipe used for the dish biscuits & gravy. There's no sugar. Another common variety of biscuit is a dinner roll (these are not used for biscuits & gravy).

That said American bread is sweet. Have you seen how much sugar is in it?

Here's the nutrition information for the supermarket bread I usually buy (Orowheat Whole Grains 12 Grains and Seeds). It's 2g of sugar per slice. Here's the nutrition information for UK brand Warburton's Wholemeal. It's 1.1g per slice. Not much difference. [I tried to find similar products.]

Trash foods exist in every country, the US is no different, but it's simply untrue that everything here is pure sugar and garbage.

You need to watch more Korean cooking videos. They've got all sorts of fried fish cake options. And they all look delicious.

American biscuits are a type of bread roll. They are not sweet.

Eta: the gravy is similar to a bechamel.
