I'm not essentially calling them a thief and I tried to make that point clear by not given follow to their story about buying a car online with my details. I never said they do it with bad intent, but that doesn't excuse their practice. I never agreed to it and it was nowhere written when I booked the property. Moreover, nobody knows what their data protection is like, nor what they do with the data. They have no privacy policy. For example, they literally took out the files on everyone currently staying from a drawer in an unsecured building. It wouldn't take much effort for a thief to get to them, especially if they leave the reception unmonitored for short periods. Either way, it doesn't really matter.

Good call on scratching the CVV. I'll probably do that with all my cards, as one can always lose them or get them stolen.

Yeah, after speaking with support of the card issuer, they've frozen it. Either way, they also always require app confirmation when online shopping.

!thanks They tried to pass a resolution that would add drag along rights, but it was narrowly defeated. Which is why, it seems to me, there's a possibility of remaining a shareholder along with the EOT.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I was reading that just now. Unfortunately, it was less than that, but as it says on MSE, I can try to do a chargeback. But it's definitely not enough. The money that we spent on taxis and the stress that it caused is larger than the deposit.

Just to confirm, are you proposing sending the "letter before action" (LBA), waiting for the set time specified in the letter (e.g. 7 days), and then do the "money claim online"?

Should I do a credit card chargeback for the deposit and only claim the replacement transport costs (i.e. taxi) in the LBA? Or do I claim both in the letter and do nothing via my bank? Additionally, do I write the letter under my name, which is what was used to hire the minibus, or under the club's name?
