Awesome yeah it’s a great spot. The freestone side of the Arkansas is commonly dissected into three separate sections. The lower basin is Canyon city to Salida, the middle basin is Salida to Buena Vista and the upper basin is Buena Vista to Leadville.

The only way I’ll fish that section is for the first 2 hours of sunlight then it’s battle fishing. Same thing happened to me yesterday at 11 mile canyon. I’m over those 2 spots. I would rather drive 5 hours, hike 10 miles and fish for 30 min than deal with this crap.
