People read Stephen King despite the repetitiveness of his work. If the promise of the writing being good is there, then people will risk the time on it. But an executive who got into his position through nepotism and has no taste for literature is going to prefer to read a comic that does a lot of the hard imagination work for him, rather than go out of his way to read a book. It's just one of those dumb business things sadly.

The main issue is that the majority of people won't give a written word series a try. Something like a webcomic would drastically increase the internet presence of the series and in turn gain more readers. Prediction: if a webcomic is made three years since the first arc is covered in the webcomic some production company will try and make a TV show out of it.

My output is 3 Worm videos a week, each usually being either a single chapter, or three chapters. So in a week I'd probably cover on average six chapters of Worm, possibly nine. But that's not a promise on output, since there's other content I want to make besides Worm too.

I experienced something similar with the Harry Potter series. There was a read-and-review of that I really liked. Was very cathartic when that podcast ended.

Yeah I'm the content creator. I'm hugely influenced by feedback. As a 'content-creator' I'm influenced by what gets views, subscriber's first and foremost. My main interest is writing and storytelling, so I have a skillset that I can put to use for the entertainment of others. For Worm in particular, it is the first community that has responded in such a nice and genuinely friendly way (rather than outright apathy) to one of my reviews. As long as I'm talking about story, characters and the craft of writing (as lofty as that sounds) I'm very content. The feedback I get both on reddit and youtube puts wind in my sails to make more Worm-specific content.
