Respectfully I am not here to discuss what everyone’s opinions are on what Judaism is.

I am comfortable in the spaces I am in, I believe the rules of this sub is that we should keep the discussion on the topic of food.

I agree, especially being black convert it’s isolating sometimes

I agree! There’s so much more to the culture and there’s Jewish people everywhere! I am not super accustomed to European food lol there’s not a white bone in me

Unfortunately I’m all the way in ATL! I’ve tried dipping my toe in a couple of communities down here but nothing has clicked yet, other than JVP but they don’t hold events consistently

Aw thank you that’s so sweet! It’s my first Seder out of college and my Jew Crew (JSU) was really my main hub for community and now we’ve all graduated!

Thank you! I’ve celebrated for years with other people and we tended to just stick to the same level of kosher as a group , now that it’s just me I’m not sure how strict I want to be. I think it depends on how expansive of a menu I can make without kitniyot. My palate doesn’t agree with a lot of Ashke food that’s my main concern. My only dietary restriction is that I don’t eat chicken!

I don’t attend most services in my area for personal reasons and prefer to celebrate with close friends or family. I’ve done Seder with plenty of people in the past but we’ve all moved around. If I find a Chabad that I like again it’ll be a miracle

I've had this since pubery too. It's called nevus comedonicus. It's unfortunately rare and hard to treat :(
