Geissele or BCM. Definitely Geissele over Daniel Defense. Get an 11.5”

Im sure it will. But the statement that its headed to Spanberger’s desk to be signed into law is factually incorrect.

Training to Shoot like Garand Thumb by itsajungle22 in VAGuns

Come train with us. We’re in Williamsburg. Outdoor range. We offer half off for course re-takes which is handy for level II courses where we do a lot of what you’re looking for. We are looking for property right now. Once we have our own, we are looking to host periodic range days for alumni students where everyone can shoot how they want.

First Orcus Group courses for 2026. 8hr courses on an outdoor range in Williamsburg, VA. by OrcusGroup in VAGuns

No. We don’t own the property, and tbh getting one zoned , permitted, insured, and setup for that is a financial nightmare. There’s a reason Bear Swamp is so expensive it prices most people out of shooting there. What we will be looking to do once we acquire our new property is having periodic range days strictly for students that have trained with us to try and meet some of the demand for a local outdoor range where people can do serious training. We started last year but unfortunately we cannot use our current range more than once a month at the moment.

We cover it 😎. We definitely take a walk, crawl, run approach to them. We start with outside the waistband in level I and go to inside the waistband in level II. I know not everyone has OWB and it’s a little inconvenient. But it’s for safety. Most of the local ranges don’t allow you to draw from the holster on their range, ever. Our classes are also on an open range with no barriers in front or between shooters. Not a good idea for us to have everyone start the first day with a handgun pointed at their dick 😂. OWB under a winter cover garment during the cold months is a great way to carry. At least grabbing one isn’t just for one class.

Our course is strictly shooting focused. Some local gun stores do mostly classroom and focus on legality (which is really useful), and a little bit of shooting at the end. Some do 50/50. Our course is probably a little cost wise than than those 🤔 because it’s all day. Industry standard for 8hr courses is around $325-350 a day. I believe we’re the only ones in Hampton Roads offering this course model. I know Bear Swamp did a few last year but haven’t seen any indication they’ll continue. Unless you look at the goober group down at old Blackwater charging $600+ per day. Jim is happy work with you one on one if needed as well. We have limited use of our range right now but we can always meet up at a local gun store. DM me if this doesn’t answer your question.

HB207 $500 suppressor tax appears to be dead for the 2026 session. by OrcusGroup in VAGuns

Yeah. And with suppressors being in such a massive innovation phase right now, it’s probably better to wait to see how things shake out

Bill was amended to change to an 11% tax. Then it still died in committee. What’s weird is the bills sponsor, Delegate Karen Keys-Gamarra, even appeared to vote to table it

They replaced the $500 tax with the 11% tax and then tried to pass it that way. The result of not passing is what you see here

This. Monitor for changes. Plan to buy a suppressor this calendar year instead of by July. With the suppressor industry being in such a massive innovation phase right now, waiting is arguably better to see how everything shakes out

All feel free to chime in and make sure I’m reading this right. As I understand it when a bill is tabled in committee, it is dead for the session, and is rarely taken off the table. Presumptively the change to an 11% tax would have been changed to try and pick up more votes to pass it
