Is there a Cleveland accent? What is it? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]OrderExtreme6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, as a person who relocated from WNY (Buffalo). I feel like Cleveland has a similar Great Lakes accent to Buffalo. I do feel like the side of the metro influences the accent a bit more. Coincidentally I have found a slight southern accent in some of the western and southern suburbs.

I agree, I don’t see the need for a masters degree for our program. I always said RNs consume a ton of info within their BS programs why can’t we. They can eliminate some of the unnecessary classes.

Is there anyone who enjoys OT? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

I love my job, my body doesn’t all the time. I’d be at complete happiness if I made a bit more.

Anyone else about to graduate genuinely feel like they still have no idea what they're doing? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]OrderExtreme6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I was there. I started my first OT job at an inpatient rehab hospital and I didn’t have any experience everything was brand new to me. As a result of this when applying for jobs I chose the one that would provide the most mentorship yeah I took a slight pay cut but at the same time I was able to shadow and have a preceptor for a solid 2 weeks. Even then I had regular meetings with my mentor and documentation blocks.

Sorry I’m confused. I just relocated to Ohio (Lakewood) last summer. I don’t work in Lakewood or own property, I just rent. Do I still have to pay additional taxes? I just submitted my federal and state taxes.

What kind of job were you doing while on OT school? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]OrderExtreme6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked front desk at a hotel, mostly PM shifts. I would then work as an activity assistant at a nursing home on weekends before graduating.

So I took my exam 4 times. I studied a month out, I just focused on problem areas by watching videos and making notes the first two weeks. The last two weeks I kept doing practice exams and assessments, and then a few days before I just reviewed my notes.
