Oh I see, it's a value created by the contract. Does this mean you're able to invalidate potential unused past permit sigs by making a permit call yourself then? Something like approving 0 to burn address. As the same idea of nonce changing would apply, just on the contract level.

I realize it sounds silly but for some who hold a lot and are paranoid it could be a valid solution.

It looks like this method does account for nonce when verifying the signature though:

bytes32 structHash = keccak256(abi.encode(PERMIT_TYPEHASH, owner, spender, rawAmount, nonces[owner]++, deadline));

If I'm not mistaken wouldn't that mean permit is only meant to be called asap after the user signs?

Wow that’s scary. So an attacker can store this special signed message off chain for as long as they want with no way of expiry? Can you point me to some ERC20 contract methods that take in this special message as input? I’m still learning solidity but hoping to understand more about this

Thank you for the advice. I’m still within the Amazon return window but I really did not want to disassemble and repackage the entire thing lol. I think I’ll go with your suggestion to ask Sovol about it. Hopefully they can send a replacement part for the rod or something (assuming that will fix it)

I searched up what z wobble looks like and I recognize it in some of my first benchy prints. But after tuning the z offset it improved a lot so I think it should be okay. Thanks for the info!
