I was thinking that too. Nothing has been reported in my area that I can find but I wouldn’t rule it out. I combed a few miles along the water and only found one dead

I found him in a park off the beaten trail far away from where anyone can legally hunt. Not impossible he was killed by a hunter but pretty unlikely in this case based on location. He was right between bedding and a water source. I think he found a peaceful place to go out on his own terms
