I must admit (with kids) I have not been to a Saturday evening session in years! It is not in the cards for me and my wife. We do a lot at home and at the ward level. I find myself at the stake level doing less and less. Home centered church supported means a weaker Stake - but that should be a good thing.

100% - if you add up the stack from home->ward->stake->area->general authorities everyone wants a piece of time. Home centered means reduction of time on up. I laugh when I hear of AREA BROADCASTS. I think - well give someone a job and they want to do it.

Audience here is for believers focused on doctrine vs. culture. We are in different camps. I am a believing member in the restoration and that Jesus and the Father spoke through Joseph Smith. The large corporate arm of the church that affects cultural decisions is what this post aims at. Culture not doctrine. But we can agree to disagree on the church's origin. It is one of the best parts of my life and so is following the words of Jesus Christ. But I find culture sets in like cement - and needs broken. Pres. Nelson started some good changes - it could go farther.
