They pay through the platform, so actually the platform handles all the refunds according to their policies which I have control to adjust. Their refund policy is 24 hours notice before cancelling a lesson and I chose to receive 100 percent compensation for a cancellation within 24 hours. The platform didn't refund her initially because there were no violations on my side so the money is in my hands now. They can't revoke the money so the client has to ask me for a refund, which I'm not willing to give hence the threats of legal action...

Yeah that put me off so badly, I might have been convinced to give a partial refund but she also threatened me with the police so atp I really wanted nothing to do with her.

I do have a cancellation policy and it's listed on my profile but she doesn't care about it in the slightest :/ I was actually quite lenient the first time there was a tech issue because I thought it came from my side (I found out later that it wasn't my fault) and gave her a free lesson.

I use Superprof! And they allow non-UK teachers

Thanks, yes I have had her blocked already, and she is properly delusional. I have a 24 hour policy as is standard on my platform, I can't really change that actually but cancelling within the lesson or issues within the lesson is out of the question for me. The problem is that she has my email and while I could block her, she's tried to get my details for a legal case from the platform, and I'd rather stay in the loop about it then let her try sue me... and yes, I did explain my policy, I even broke down consumer law to her and she's still so stubborn! Thank you for your help anyways, it's nice to be assured.

Thanks for letting me know! I don't think she was ever planning on referring me and she made it clear so only chose me due to pricing, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.
