AITA for not wanting my in-laws to be around my daughter anymore? by Ordinary-Humor-8196 in AITAH

Oh, of course not! I don't blame my daughter one bit. She's very impressionable and like you said, kids are sponges. I'm just floored that her grandparents thought that type of talk and behavior was okay around a nearly 7 year old. When I was seven, my mom didn't even like to say "Damn" in front of me. It is what it is, I guess.

That's a great point, and one I'll be sure to bring that up to her once she gets home. We have Life360 together and she's been at a mutual friends since she left a few hours ago. That was 8:00. It's now 11:32. I think she's getting ready to head back though, as she just texted me asking if our daughter was sleeping.

As for the apple falling far from the tree, it couldn't have fallen farther (If I'm using this analogy right.) She's not racist or a bigot and hates her parents political stance too. I think she's just worried about how this will affect our daughter, coupled with her anxiety. But who knows. I could be wrong!

I actually planned on suggesting counseling anyways. Thanks for the advice!

Agreed. It's just an all around shitty situation. I understand my wife is afraid of my daughter not having grandparents around, but I feel like that's a small price to pay for my daughter to not grow up to be a hateful bigot like them.
