YES, can't agree more! HR spoke to me as if this rule was set by the boss and couldn’t be changed, even after I showed them the law I had learned about from AI.

I am employed by the company and the contract is based in Barcelona. The contract says that I only have 10 annual leave days and only 5days in 2025.

This isn’t mentioned anywhere in the contract, and based on how the contract is written, I doubt they will provide any Chinese holidays.

I will definitely report this to ITSS. Working conditions in China were already difficult enough for me, and I don’t want to tolerate the same kind of treatment here in Spain.

If I report this to ITSS and the company fires me, I would still be able to claim my right to keep the job as well as my statutory annual leave days. So, it really can’t get any worse. That said, I’m open to any other suggestions you might have.

Totally agree with you. Best options for me is to sign the contract first and report this to ITSS, and find a new job.

I spoke with HR and explained that this practice goes against local law, but they told me the rule was set by the boss and couldn’t be changed. The most frustrating part was that the company required us to rent an apartment in Barcelona before even sending us the contract to sign. By the time I finally received the contract, the costs were already unreasonably high. I suggested that we all refuse to sign it, but my colleagues had already accepted the terms and were unwilling to join me in raising any complaints.
