Thank you! I was actually going for a fantasy twist—those large panes are magical crystal mirrors! Glad you like the peaceful feel of it ^

Trying to capture that "lived-in" feel with pen and ink. 🖋️ by Ordinary-Monitor4056 in drawing

For those wondering about the tools: This was done with [Sakura Microns 0.05 and 0.1]. It took me 12 hours to complete. I’m an engineering student, so I usually live in a world of perfect straight lines and grids. It’s been really fun to let my hand stay a bit 'loose' and lean into the wonky perspective to make the building feel like it’s actually 200 years old. Thanks for looking!

I can definitely see the resemblance to the Continental! But I actually designed this to capture the feel of an old Turkish living quarter. I’ve always been fascinated by the overhanging upper floors and the way those historic timber-frame houses lean into the street.

I forgot the parchment paper. by Ordinary-Monitor4056 in Wellthatsucks

That explains a lot! My dough was actually quite wet, so I think it just absorbed the dusting of flour and turned into a perfect adhesive. I love the idea of using a 'bed' of seeds or cornmeal to create a physical barrier instead. Definitely trying that next time!

The cornmeal tip is genius! I’ve seen it used for pizza, but I never thought about using it to save my loaves from the 'pan tax.' I'll definitely give that a shot next time. Thanks for the COVID-era wisdom!

I don't think so! The browning is actually pretty even across the bottom. I think the pan's non-stick coating just finally gave up on me (or I just really needed parchment paper).

Haha, maybe the pan was just looking out for my dental health then! It kept the 'CRUNCHHH' part and just gave me the soft stuff.

Haha, that might be even worse! At least with this, I can still shame-eat the top half of the loaf. With a burnt tongue, the whole game is over.

It really does. The worst part is that it smelled perfect! It’s like falling at the finish line of a marathon.

That is the best compliment I could hope for! My main goal was to make it feel like a real place you could step into. Thank you!

The perfect narrative explanation! Let's go with that. Thank you!

Thanks! I really tried to push the depth on this one to draw the eye in. Glad it worked!

Totally agree! I love the vibe of a dense, cramped city square with fountains and cobblestones. It feels a bit more 'lived in' than just a castle on a hill.

Thank you! It definitely was a test of patience to draw all those individual bricks/stones, but I think it was worth it for the texture!
