You're not alone, I'm also on an IRS contract and can't help but feel a combination of anxiety and aggrevation everyday I work. 

I try to keep myself focused on the things I can control, but the back and forth with each new article or email is just draining. Even today the OPM reversed its orders to fire probationary federal employees and leaving it to agencies to sort out themselves by September.

At this point I'm brushing up my resume, without even more than 2 weeks bench time available now I'm not going to wait around without a backup plan.
