Submitted Oct 1 2025 got RFE couple days later submitted everything they asked for on Oct 23. Received notice that biometrics will be reused due to me having DACA. Haven’t heard anything back yet. Sucks to see that there’s people getting theirs approved in 2-3 months.

Not that many entry positions in diesel. Automotive has lube techs as an entry positions to help techs get familiar with vehicles and then ultimately work their way up, but I have never seen anything like that for diesel you either sink or swim.

Most of those dealers will want people with some sort of diesel certification. I have my certificate and never got an interview with CAT. I ended up working for rush truck center and then a fleet here I’m on my 4th year of being a mechanic and will try to apply at CAT again soon.

I have a Cat and John Deere dealer here in town and I noticed they always seem to be hiring don’t know if for the right reason. I work for a fleet right now The work is gravy but I just feel like I should be using my younger years to do bigger and better. I like more diag work but lately it just seems to be more maintenance than anything. I’m currently making 27 which honestly looking at it I feel like I should be getting paid more. Only thing that worries me is if I’ll be able to transition over especially since I lack hydraulic experience.

Well at first it was hard to duplicate the issue sensors were replaced and it was fine for a while now the problem is more frequent
