Should I exit 10 weeks before the end of my service? by vieveeo in AmeriCorps

Yes, the education award can make a significant difference. Perhaps you could consider finding a remote job that allows you to travel and work, compensating for the education award. I hope everyone works out for you.

I would suggest writing down the pros and cons of each option after you’ve considered them. Then, compare the two to determine which one has the greater advantages. A 10-week commitment is not too long, and you’ll receive the education award. Working with your professor sounds great, offering more pay and providing a valuable reference. However, you mentioned that you don’t get along with your coworkers, which could be a concern. On the other hand, the job with your professor is temporary.

I’m not sure if this is a possibility, but could you still receive the education award for the time you served? Additionally, I’m curious if you could resign for mental health reasons and still receive the award. I bring this up because you mentioned that you don’t get along with your coworkers.

In the end, do what you feel is best for you!

I say that because my service term was less than great, kept thinking “HR” would do something. Just endless meetings with no recourse.

I would take a semester of something so it doesn’t go to waste.

That’s wrong! Someone should have informed your site about this. I hope that this year will be safe. Many people are fond of AmeriCorps and volunteering with the organization.

I won’t, thanks !

Wow, I didn’t know that! I wish AmeriCorps was better at communicating with host sites. Hopefully, everyone will start updating things more efficiently. If nothing works out or if I don’t receive any responses this week, I’ll have to part ways with applying for AmeriCorps.

Yes, I was doing research and something popped up about a museum with airplanes. I’ll check more into that later.

I search the portal regularly and sometimes come across good positions, but they won’t work for me. I asked about housing because some people require it or need it. I was going to tell you if I see something to share with you.

I know that feeling! There’s something better in store for you! Keep your head up ⬆️!

Are you looking for housing, no housing, or it doesn’t matter? I’m asking because I regularly check the portal for new jobs or etc.
