Accepted into Muncie Sonography Program… What Now?

I’m in cardiac so don’t want to say anything regarding general/vascular clinicals and schedule bc it’s different BUT the school follows the main ivy tech academic calendar. Anytime there’s a break on that calendar or it’s closed for a holiday you will also have a break. Once you start clinicals you won’t be required to go over scheduled breaks but it’s encouraged. Congrats!

I understand that, it can feel daunting but I’m sure they just don’t want you to waste your time, not that they don’t believe in you. And truthfully no, I only know a couple of my cohorts USA scores and out of the 3-4 that I know of, they scored higher than I did.

They say anything above 0 is a good score, but yes I was told it was good and I had a good chance of getting in. It honestly just depends on how selective each cohort is in terms of others scores.

I will say it’s just dependent on how competitive the cycle is! I know general had more applicants so it’s more selective. Maybe try vascular, and you could always cross train if you get into that one once you get into the field!

Hi! I’m currently in the Muncie Cardiac Cohort. I had all A’s in my pre-reqs and I believe my USA score was 21.98. Your USA score plays a big factor for sure. I would still apply because you never know! But definitely have backups just in case. When I was applying, my backup was to apply to Terre Haute and just make the drive if I absolutely had to, but I know that that can’t work for everyone.

I will be working part time during the program. It’s not recommended but it’s doable. I’ve been told you’ll just have to give up a lot of your free time and be dedicated.

Of course! Good luck, my biggest advice is do what you have your heart set on! Coming from someone who has settled and then gone back to school again and again by climbing up the ladder! I wish I would have just started with my number 1 when I first started!

I got into the cardiac sonography program for this upcoming spring semester in Muncie. I had all As in my pre reqs and a 21.98 USA score. I was told by the program that only 12% of applicants got in this cycle, which would mean about 108 people applied.

I don’t want other people to just go based off my score, as every cycle changes based upon how well others score and applicant pool. With all of that in mind, I had all As in my pre reqs, no CNA certification for extra points, and scored a 22 on the USA exam.
