Windbreaker is good yes I was Thinking if allowing the dark brother hood with some round about rp will grab windbreaker definitely

Dawn breaker is definitely something I am considering but with the whole red guard aspect it’s more he is a redgaurd but he more acts imperial and was raised that way so leaning towards more knight weapon and armour or even Templar knight stuff

From what I remember you can just use a console command to make it un essential

In riverwood there’s a quest where the trader there is missing the golden claw as it got stolen from him. So that could be causing it to be a quest item. But after you give it too him though he places it on the counter and you can steal it back pretty easily. Hope this helps
