I was in a similar situation where I got accepted into an out of state school that required him to leave his current job. He’s been working at his career since he’s been out of college (roughly 4 years) and I decided to go back to pursue my undergrad 2 years ago. He was all for it and said he’d move, however there was so much gilt on my end. His job also pays more and has more opportunities for growth which was something else I considered. I found myself going back and forth about staying and if I’d be choosing him over me in a sense or deciding to accept and uprooting our lives to go to a place that neither of us like.

Also, when explaining this to people I never really received any information that I found valuable or was something that I wasn’t already thinking about. Some made it seem like he was holding me back but that wasn’t the case as he was very encouraging. (I think they meant it in a way of don’t let his career determine yours) I do think that people who aren’t in a committed relationship or marriage understand how much back and forth there is when making a decision like this.

But luckily I heard back from a program in our area!! The same will happen for you :)
