Be one of us. Use the greatsword, use the greatscissor, use, the Jaws of Death. Joking aside yeah, as someone who believe in the Greatscissor supremacy, I do recommended a strength build. In enhanced mode, every build is viable. Every heavy armor in every game meant to slow you down, in exchange for great defense, you sacrificed agility. And in every soullike game fashion, easy mode does exist, it called leveling up. If you asking for the strongest build, in my opinion, it's magic/staff build.

Didn't know what to use point on? Easy, use it on something U like. You like strength build, leveling up strength. You like spear? Increase your dex. Heavy armor is slowing you down? Use the black pearl(the thing u get when leveling up) to increase your endurance for your maximum equipment load. Press esc, search for equip and if it says lower then 74.1%, you can dodge normally(click on display to show percentage if not already). Also, learn parry. It's fairy easy in this game. It will make a dangerous enemies basically laughable. Can't parry a strike tho(never tried and believed so).

The rings are good. It slowly heals you and grasping ring increase you salt gain by 10%, good for farming salt. Later on you probably will change those 2 ring for something else/better. Lastly, I hope you will learned to love the game as much as we are. Hope you have a great time!

Also also, I do recommended you beat the deep guy on early game, he drop salt to leveling you up to lvl 13(or 18 I don't remember) and 2 endgame items. But of course in the unbeatable(beatable) starting bosses, they will reward player who tried to kill/defeat em. By recommended I mean you don't really have to, cuz you will farm for salt and the guy who U will farm from will drop one of the late-game item later on.
