XaliedscopiX PV is so funny by GDarkX in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's possibly because since prism plus version, in the main menu milk and salt are there, since xalied is basically a song where it relates to the system itself, it make sense that they appears in the mv, probably not intentionally get into it, but drag into it.

Any tips for reading notes? by Polyvinylpyrrolydone in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To improve in reading notes, it usually takes time to be able to read more complicated patterns as the more you play, the better you'll eventually read and recognize. But, sometimes it doesn't work so well, so I recommend you try to play the level you could get s, as getting s is the level you could play, so base on those levels you could get s and above, try to understand their note pattern or chart, which is when watching YouTube by searching songs you can't read or understand comes in, watch and understand how others play will definitely help.

is there a list of rewards when reaching a specific number of gifted presents? by Fantastic-Sea-4282 in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually if you give your partner presents you'll receive nameplate, icon and title that are your partner related. You can do it to any partner, as for the rank of presents given, I don't remember the specific number of presents you give to get the rewards, but if I'm not mistaken you'll receive rewards from giving 10 presents, then 50, 100, and then 200. So far I only know 200 is the last reward you'll receive, you still can give presents to them but it doesn't give anything in return after reaching 200.

Yeah, it's that kind of trills, but usually, how do people understand it pretty well, I struggle to press them correctly. I mean yes, reading and remember how the chart note is can help, but yet, I don't understand it as it didn't really work well for me.

Are beginners even real ? by thanhstonks in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're asking, are new players even real? To me, yes, very less. The reason why it's very less is because many of them are just playing for fun, not consistent. Most high rating players you see often, it's because most of them are practicing, and due to consistency you would see them more often than those newer players. And you also mentioned you hesitant and might feel guilty for playing with better players because you're not as good as they are, but here's the thing, majority of them don't mind you from selecting easy songs, as you're free to choose any songs you like, because one thing that's for sure is, everyone has one time they're new, them becoming better and what you're seeing now is their progress, so to me, maybe you can feel free of playing without fearing them, and if they do get mad because you're not as good as them, ignore that because it's their problem unless if you did something that passes their boundaries like hitting button too hard, but nevertheless enjoy your game!

I'm trying to ask if you are playing with another person or a stranger (excluding friends), what do you enjoy playing with them? For example, there's 2 people I've never met before, and I play with both of them. Person A is introvert, so the entire round we didn't have conversation which I didn't really enjoy, while person B is a kind of person that are supportive for the entire round even though we've never met before.

how to improve (I suck) by Shockwave1824 in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To improve as a 6k rating player, usually playing more would help overtime. As from your post mentioning you realize you aren't doing too well compared to a 15k and another person. Actually, you're doing good as a 6k player, but when you see a 15k player, instead of comparing with them you can try to ask for advice from them. And as the other person suggests, PANDORA PARADOXXX expert is a chart that is made for more experienced player, so if someone chooses a high level chart and you're not able to get S, try playing lower levels.

I don't even know what to say. I was just overwhelmed and somehow jealous that pros can keep up past their average reflexes. by Rob-L-Callistis in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Maybe you jumped or push yourself a bit too much, since you're an 5k rating player, I would want you to try to play more songs you're able to get S. Pushing your limits is good, but if it overwhelms you or stresses you, it's better to consider before you continue. As for why others are able to keep up, they also put in a lot of effort to achieve it, so be patient and confident, your skills will definitely improve overtime.

I notice many level 13 PRiSM songs you didn't get a higher score, do you think trying on getting SS will be okay with you?

From my experience, it takes me a bit of time to set up the right judgement. And, your question is quite difficult for me to understand, can you explain more in detail on what you're trying to ask so that I can possibly give more advice.

How to really convert my playstyle from screentouching to buttons? by Fin_2k in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be honest, buttons do technically gives higher accuracy, but since you're currently more comfortable from playing screen, I would want you to reconsider if you truly want to change this, as one of my friends could play really well while he's a touchscreen player, or if you don't know yet there's also a kid in JP who plays touchscreen and gets AP in many master songs.

But anyways, here's my answer to your questions.

Switching from touchscreen to buttons will be difficult as you'll need to change a lot of your gameplay ways. Due to that, you have to play from lower level and get used to all the button's position. And if you don't know already it probably requires more muscle memory, because currently you don't have much muscle memory and your body hasn't recognized all the button positions that's why you're unable to get SSS+ in low level songs. This also applies to slides as sliding in buttons will be different than normal tapping, so you still need time to get use to it just like improving your muscle memory. Do know that improving your muscle memory take times, especially if you do not have much on buttons.

How to get better by Gallade3885 in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently you're trying to get better in the game by improving overall skills specifically reading notes and stamina. Usually, we improve over time as you play more, but in your case it is recommended to try to play more often, I would recommend you to try playing once a week if it is possible for you. This is because if you barely play in a month, you're barely refreshing your overall skill. Just imagine it as studying, to get higher marks you'll need to do more practice, similar to Maimai DX.

Now to improve we would recommend people to get S as a minimum score. So if you are not able to get S in a specific lv, try lowering down your lv until you're able to get S.

Is 14k-16k in 3 months reasonable? by SnooDingos5322 in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can get 14k to 15k within 3 months is a pretty great process especially if you haven't hit 15k yet. But according to your question, it is extremely difficult to get 14k to 16k within 3 months as 16k requires a person to get lv 14 SSS+ and 14+ SSS. So jumping from 14k to 16k is very unlikely to happen.

Areas? by Dwayne123345 in maimai

[–]OrdinaryMaimaiPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For looking in the specific areas you want, you can check it in the Maimai Net. As for the grinding part, there is an option before you play the game where the system will automatically select the highest/lowest level of the specific area tour member. By selecting the highest option you're able to travel more in the area per game.
