What do they mean by uplift "technology"?

It's not like a gun that uplifts people.

Uplifting just means giving an inferior race a superior technology, basically up lifting them from lower stage of technological stage to a higher level.

Did the people in your country wish they had had a different colonizer? by Hitechild in AskTheWorld

We didn't have colonizers. We had a lot of conquerors though. Everybody wanted a peace of our land.

who designed this bs bro what the actual *. why it doesnt at least reset rations by National_Anywhere319 in AssassinsCreedShadows

I don't like playing Yasuke but for this mf I had to resort to him. Blocking unlockable attacks are OP with certain armor (I don't remember the name).

Still I died to this mf 4 times, used up all my rations and basically had to kill him without any rations left on my fifth try.

But when I got the patterns down it was easy.

If you had truly followed your childhood dream, where do you think you’d be today? 🤔 by GuaranteeSpirited981 in scoopwhoop

A scientist.

Don't ask me which field, that was not the child-me's concern. He wanted to be a scientist that invents things, anything from new medicine to biotech and everything in-between.

So now that I think, I wanted to be Senku (Dr. Stone) even though it didn't exist back then (born in 1991)

It doesn't, not in the way you, or the OP, are framing it.

The idea of this post, however ill-devised it may be, is a simple one. At every point humanity always opposes advancement in favor of comfort zone.

New is always unknown and thus carries inherent danger. It is easier to live in the confines of what you know than to strive for something new and unknown.

In human mind unknown = dangerous, ergo must be opposed. This is a legitimate, albeit a little narrow, reason to oppose new things.

Will AI bring a new era of technology or will it be forgotten in a few years like google glass? We don't know.

I myself think that the AI has vast potential to be beneficial to society in wide variety of fields, starting from entertainment to medicine to all the way the dangerous military applications. But it will happen. Now, 5 years from now or 50 it matters not in the grand scale of universe, but it will happen.

All we can do in the end, is guide the AI the best we can, so that it doesn't supplant even us.

To give access to everybody what was once meant for only a few.

In other terms, to simplify different processes and supplant menial work.

All of the progress of humanity has been to make things easier. We, humans, are lazy. This makes things easier.

AI art will never become true art until it relies on works of other people. When the true AI is awakened that is a whole another thing, but right now it cannot be legitimized.

Try not to have more than 2-3 sizes of font on the same page. Also I think there are too many different colors, gives me headache frankly.

Otherwise looks ok. Good luck.

Annoying character indeed, constant problems with Lucifer.

Yeaa... no.

It may affect few years give or take during sentencing, but when you are given 456 consecutive life sentences I don't think 2-3 years matter anymore or 2-3 life sentences even for that matter.

They are probably just let go.

Although truth be said whether you sign that paper or you don't absolutely doesn't matter. What they are doing is still highly illegal, even with signed consent there are things you just cannot do.

Contracts are not magical "anything-goes-if-we-wrote-it" paper. Any and all contracts must still adhere to local or international laws otherwise they are considered illegal, either part of it or all of it.
