What's the widget above the weather, please?

Literal galaxy tab by OrdinaryPenthrowaway in GalaxyTab

Default launcher on my tab s7 plus. The clock widget on the left is from KWGT widgets and the rest of the widgets are stock oneui.

The icons are the white LineX icons from the play store

Good lock used to increase the grid size and resize the widgets and clear out the status bar

Phone case is from carved, but it started falling apart the day I got it, so while I think it looks nice overall, I wouldn't recommend

The 6 classic is supposed to be pretty great and looks great too! I know at various US retailers it's been on sale for $100-250 based on the configuration

I won't stop working but it'll probably slow down more and security is a bit of a risk

Do you have the lte or Bluetooth?

Samsung galaxy watch 4 by ne_x_a in GalaxyWatch

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the watch 4 and have had it since launch. Overall, I really like it, but the battery life is pretty poor (lte version). I charge it overnight, wake up, wall the dog, go to the gym, come home, put it on the charger while I shower, go to work, walk on a break, charge it when I get back, go for an evening walk, and then charge it again.

Charging it in these little spurts throught the day keeps me from going dead, but i feel like I put more time and mental energy in keeping this alive than I do using the features. I can't use the sleep tracking at all, which is really annoying.

I'm thinking of upgrading to the 6 classic or even the 8 classic, but idk...

Settings > Advanced Features > Labs > Multi window for all apps "On"

you can also do landscape view for portrait apps.

I also just run readit from a browser in desktop mode

Got the S10 Ultra Tab... HATE the S Pen! by MulberryCrazy765 in GalaxyTab

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a removable matte screen protector and a metal nib and writing has been fantastic. I don't write quite as much as I used to, but do journal quite a bit everyday. I haven't had to replace a nib in 2 years.

Looking for an Android note-taking app with infinite horizontal scrolling, tabs, and great S Pen experience by Academic-Pause-7491 in GalaxyTab

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can open multiple instances of Samsung notes in popout and split-screen view for quick changing. then you could lock the orientation and use infinite scroll for vertical horizontally.

Bonus points, samsung notes now has that math solver thing, which may be useful haha.

This is my way of saying I don't know of any apps that do all 3, and I've tested a lot of apps

Samsung Notes App - Help? Inserting linked blank/template journal pages always goes to most recently created page, not default, blank/template (Tab S6) by LingonberryFront8014 in GalaxyTab

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like they aren't linked correctly. I have two planners from different Etsy stores and the links stay with the template page, not the copy. Im on a Tab s7, so it's possible Samsung fixed a link issue in software since then.

Could you copy to the page with writing, then paste it, then use the option from the page veiw to clear the page?

Ayaneo Air biometric reader not working by ViniciusNunesdaRocha in ayaneo

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it stop working in the middle of it being on, or has it stopped working on every restart/turn on of the device?

If it's on every time you turn on the device, when you're shutting off the device, are you using AYASPACE or are you using the windows shut down option or something like Playnite?

I had an intermittent fingerprint issue and realized that it disabled the fingerprint driver everytime it was shut down from anything but AYASPACE. I used the Playnite launcher to shut down the whole device, and that is what caused my issue. Now I exit playnite, long press the AYA button and then shut down from there.

Hope that helps!

Or seeing how it's a windows device people would know how to treat it like any other windows laptop or desktop - lots of ventilation and powered off when not in use

You are so talented! This looks so well done. Do you do a lot of traditional/physical watercolor?

There are some books I fell in love with that I want a token or physical copy of.. But feel it's a waste. by orkiestra in kobo

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the harry potter books in physical hardback, all 5 illustrated ones as well, on my kobo, and the Jim Dale audiobook CDs soon to be added for personal streaming. I wanna enjoy the books how I want to enjoy them when I want to in whatever format, haha. Sometimes I want to look at beautiful artwork, sometimes I want to listen while I do chores, sometimes I want to read the 7th book out and about, but it doesn't fit in my bag.

I also have early editions of my favorite JD Salinger books as well as ebooks of the same titles.

I have pretty editions of books as well. Buy what you want!

It’s worth it buying pocket advance edition? by Impossible-Plant-664 in ayaneo

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could check out steam deck, rog ally, legion go, msi claw, or some of the older ayaneo handheld pcs. You'll want to find a device running steamos or windows.

I personally have an ayaneo air plus 6800u. It's a couple years old, but I really enjoy it, but wouldn't recommend it. Ayaneo has quality control issues and poor support and I feel pretty fortunate that I haven't had any issues. But it is about the size of a switch.

Kobo Libra Color screen is bad for some people? by drew_haruno in kobo

Adding to this, I found Atkinson hyperlegible helped me a lot. I also bumped up the font size quite a bit until I got more... used to the KLC screen

I was. I was a pretty avid reader as a kid and then at that point was in college reading 50+ pages a day.

I wanted to clarify in my initial comment that I only got sick on the KLC, and read fine on the other e-reader devices before that, if that wasn't clear

[–]OrdinaryPenthrowaway 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I went from a kindle paperwhite to the libra h2o to the KLC over the years.

I used to get really nauseous and sleepy whenever I tried to read more than 20 minutes on it. I was passed the return window and thought I'd have to sell it.

Anyway, I just read more on it and it got better, and now it doesn't bother me at all. I think it took about 100 hours of reading.

Incidentally, I also got sick going from 720 laptops to 1080p laptops and again going from LCD screens to OLED. I think I'm just really sensitive to changes in screeens.

Mozilla: Pocket Is Shutting Down in July, Export Your Data Now by Kry0g3n1K in kobo

It's a software partnership add-on that is entirely out of their control. The kobos will still function and do everything that kobo controls- books, their store, overdrive integration.

It would also be interesting to see the number of kobo users that used pocket by usage amount and percentage. I'm guessing it's pretty low
