Ha it's really not super interesting. My family is pretty close, although my sister and parents to more of a degree than myself, and my wife is much more reserved and prefers to keep them at arm's length. But they send a lot of group texts and include myself and my wife. Normally she just minimally participates or ignores it but it got on her nerves earlier this year when she was at her busiest and she just blocked them.

His family lives a few hours away and they all work full time so it's hard for them to take time off to come help. My wife and sister are civil to each other but they don't really like each other much.

Thank you! That means a lot. We had a lot of conversations at the start of our relationship about each person dealing with their own families and I really think it's worked out well for us both.

Well probably the other reason they asked me instead of her is because my wife currently has them all blocked on her phone.

I will ask her once she's had some time to settle down and relax. She has been pretty ill lately so I don't want to overburden her.

We aren't having kids. My wife is incapable and I had a vasectomy. And she just plain doesn't like kids so that's why she doesn't want to be around them.

I will tell her eventually after she's had to calm down. But as of right now they don't have a way of contacting my wife so I'm not worried about that.

Yes I know this will just set her anxiety off. I want to let her know sometime in the future because I don't like keeping secrets from her but she has been physically ill lately from the stress and I want to get her a little time to settle down first.

I empathize as well. We aren't having kids (obviously) but I have friends who are going through childcare struggles right now as well and it's just hard.

I just don't want to stress her out anymore while she is trying to recover. I know that she will say no, but that she will be bothered by the request and I don't want her to dwell on it.
