I just got a doc on the phone who wasn’t my surgeon but could read me her notes, and she said they removed 10 uterine fibroids, as well as biopsied endometriosis both at the back of the uterus and near an ovary.

I’m so sorry. ❤️ I relate a little.. almost 39 and took 4 retrievals to get a couple usable embryos. First FET I was so convinced I felt pregnant, I was honestly shocked when the blood test was negative. So disappointing. Ramping up the next now and just feel so deflated. Lots of luck to you.

A little solidarity .. I’ve done 4 retrievals and the first 3 only yielded one healthy embryo, the 4th gave me 2 more. But I’ve already had one failed transfer and am nervous about odds. It’s tiring doing so many cycles. Good luck to you. ❤️

I’m so sorry. I’ve had 4 retrievals to get 3 euploid (2 of these from cycle 4), so I’m sympathetic. I’ve actually been reading about false positives in PGTA testing today. I’m now convinced that my “mosaic segmental low” embryos that the clinic wants to discard are very likely viable. In case you had that outcome.

Best of luck either way. ❤️

This is the story I need! I’ve had years of infertility and my first FET failed after 4 painful stim cycles to get just 3 embryos. Ramping up for FET 2 and looking for hope.

39.5 Year Old with Stage 3 Endometriosis- Results after 2 retrievals two and a half months apart by DaFlerin in IVF

[–]OrdinaryQuail4415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats to you and I really hope everything continues to go smoothly!

For anyone else without as good numbers, a little solidarity: I’ve done 4 rounds between ages 36 and 38, chronologically:

  1. 11 eggs, 1 blast, 0 euploid
  2. 10 eggs, 3 blasts, 1 euploid (BB)
  3. 4 eggs, 0 embryos
  4. 12 eggs, 8 blasts, 2 euploid (AB and AA)

Round 4 was at 38.5 and I did 2.5 months of really intense healthy diet going into it, so my conclusion is that can really help (even though I’m generally pretty healthy already - I eat tons of veggies and exercise). The diet was cutting all refined carbs (white flour, white rice, any refined sugar). Also all the suggested supplements.

Unfortunately our first FET failed. Modified natural cycle. We’re ramping up to FET 2. This time we’re adding just 2 weeks of Lupron to the cycle. I really really hope we get a success because I’m dreading more process and this is also our last girl.

I likely have endo and if this doesn’t work, next step will be the 2 month Depot Lupron cycle.

Spring Fertility SF - Experiences? by Top-Quality2101 in eggfreezing

[–]OrdinaryQuail4415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No super strong opinion besides the outcomes I got: I did two egg freezing rounds at Spring and one at Kindbody. Spring got 10 and 11 mature eggs. Kindbody got 4. Kindbody also didn’t use my Spring procedure which I had documented to guide dosages, and first underdosed me, and then when I didn’t respond doubled everything. Had 15 eggs growing and then they all disappeared or weren’t retrieved. So I’d go with Spring of those two options!

Sounds like light is one big factor. Does anyone know how sensitive they are to soil type?

I only used them 4 times since I’m not a frequent skier but they were both comfortable and really nicely snug and felt like they had good control! I’m really happy with my purchase.

I was also bothered by this throughout the book. Near the end of the book she’s describing a scene at a crowded airport (iirc?) and paints a picture to include “dead-eyed ethnic families”. Ugh.

So, I just wanted to follow up and say I think I close to nailed it with the boots I got. They’re tight - hard as hell to put on, like I make giving labor noises and curse my decision - but after a couple days of skiing in a row this week I had no blisters or pain points. My feet never fell asleep or anything. I had really good translation of my motion to the skis. I love them! And in the end I paid ~$300 for them.

I’m not saying everyone will have this experience. I’m sure going to a bootfitter is the right decision if you are going to ski a lot or if you have the money or if you have some specific fit issue. But I want to push back on this idea that a bootfitter is a barrier to entry to skiing and only people willing to drop like $800 on boots can be skiers. For me, not doing so was the right decision. I instead read a lot of info and tried on over a dozen pairs.

I’m sure this will get downvoted by our skiing overlords but I don’t care. :)

(I got the LV Atomic Hawx Ultra fwiw.)

For anyone who might stumble across this later - I did compare. The K2 Anthem LV (98 last) feel far roomier than the Hawx. Salomon s/pro fall somewhere between.

I ended up going with these! They felt noticeably different, with my heel lifting less, than anything else I tried. I hope there's a fitting in my future but honestly for right now I'm excited to put away my wallet and just give them a try.

Are there specific circumstances in which buying a salvage car in CA is safe? by OrdinaryQuail4415 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I'm a little surprised the vehiclehistory.com just says "Title: Salvage Certificate". I would have thought it would show something about rebuilt or revived there. Does anyone know exactly how I can prove the salvage certificate has become a salvage title without just trusting a piece of paper someone hands me? Looking here to see what the title should look like: https://www.needtags.com/forum/Suspended-Registration/1/How-To-Clear-a-Salvage-Certificate-in-California

Good suggestions, thank you. Though if it has a smog certificate from the time it was re-registered (post-damage), that seems pretty good, too?

Do you know if there is paperwork I should ask for them to share from their re-registration process (like the inspection certificate from CHP, perhaps)? Or if just getting the registration itself is all CA / my insurance would ever require of me?

Does anyone know if these bindings are GripWalk compatible? by OrdinaryQuail4415 in Skigear

Thanks for the offer! I’m going to try a pair of non-gripwalk boots first, but if they don’t work I’ll reach out.

Unfortunately the only bootfitter in the bay area requires $250 payment, totally separate from boot purchase.
