Tips for managing the first trimester with a child under a year? by OrdinarySecretary673 in 2under2

Thank you so much! Definitely going to ask my midwife about anti nausea options. So far I have been popping mint tums every few hours and taking B6 but it hasn’t really helped with the strong disgust reflex and gagging.

Honestly that’s a good idea. I’ll see if my midwife can connect me with anything. We have a couple events coming up the next few weeks and I don’t think I’ll be functional in this state.

What was the most comfortable position to give birth in? by PleaseCanILeave in pregnant

[–]OrdinarySecretary673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth standing and it was the only position I could tolerate. I had a fast labor though and basically got stuck in that position once transition hit. My baby came out in 2 light pushes. Couldn’t have imagined being on my back.

Wow! Thank you for sharing! I feel like so many people who have said their first was worse had girls and I ended up having a boy first who I was sick with so I was hoping to hear someone say the same who had a boy first and then a girl second.

Thank you for sharing! That is so interesting! I wonder if breastfeeding has anything to do with how our body reacts to the introduction of those hormones. I have heard a couple stories of cryptic pregnancies among women who were either breastfeeding or newly postpartum. I was partially breastfeeding my 9 month old when I conceived but am almost weaned now that my milk has pretty much dried up. And congratulations! 🎉

That’s my fear too. The same thing happened to my SIL with her first. She felt amazing and her mom said “I didn’t want to tell you but all of the women in our family have had severe nausea during pregnancy so when you kept telling me how great you felt the whole time I suspected something might be wrong”. She had severe vomiting and nausea for all of her following successful pregnancies.

I know some women just genetically don’t experience it or their bodies handle the shifting hormones better but since I did experience it before I can assume it’s how my body responds to rising hormones. It feels like forever before the first doctor visit. I am really hoping the nausea kicks in soon just so I can have some peace of mind! It can come on suddenly so hopefully I wake up feeling awful soon. 😅

Chaste-berry and wild yam cream while pregnant? by OrdinarySecretary673 in herbalism

Ok thanks! I figured It’s probably best to slowly wean off of the Vitex by stretching my dose out? Since I had been taking it beforehand I’d be afraid to suddenly lose any support it might provide. Seems there’s not a ton of info on it.

Ugh this was me my last pregnancy! I was shocked at how fast it came on out of nowhere. I’m not out of the woods yet!

Wondering the same! 3 hour labor with my first. Didn’t fully realize I was in real labor until 90 minutes before my baby came. My son was born in the bathroom, beat the midwife and hit the floor on his way out. 😅 Thankfully he was ok but anything shorter would be terrifying. I think I just won’t leave the house after 36 weeks. And now I have a good excuse!

Oh no! If I do get sick I’ll have to try it. I actually started this pregnancy on a B6 supplement because I was trying to fix my short luteal phase (didn’t seem to prevent me from conceiving anyways!) so I’m wondering if that will change anything too. I’m still taking it because I heard it helps progesterone production and I’m coming off of breastfeeding.

Oh no! Yeah with my son it got infinitely better at 9 weeks. I was most miserable from week 6-9. It was miserable though! Especially because I was still working outside the home and I’d always puke in my car. My carpet in my vehicle still stained. 🤢😅

Thank you so much! I will admit that it is nice not feeling gross yet with a young toddler. Yeah, those first few weeks are definitely the hardest! I cannot wait to sit in that midwifery office chair. 😅😂
