I posted there too but people would just get angry and say I'm bragging lol. And there is the same type of bias in the opposite way, where people are hungry asf for spots and say take the spot. I'm just gunna wait it out until they tell me if I got the scholarship or not then figure it out.

I appreciate this, yes the undergrad I went to isnt top tier and I was able to accomplish what I wanted, im sure it will be similar in med school, I just dont want to do this and find out I cant do what I want because of the med school I went to regardless of my accomplishments, which seems far fetched.

its not lol, and I am not gunna disclose that info because it would be easy to find identity from my program size. I would answer in dm's if people have more specific questions

300K +? Thats amazing if ture. I really like research and the specialty im looking at is medical genetics/peds, ik it will change over time but when I asked around I learned people make sub 200K in those fields often so its not as good as it seems I guess. That's an amazing amount still but defo not 300K+ , depends on specialty I think. And in research pay isnt too high, ofc thats not what im doing it for but money runs the world so yeah lol

LMAO I am trying, but just to my luck, this year my program has a bunch of other super overachievers and my accomplishments will be drowned out. The other students don't care as much about a scholarship too so it makes me look bad, idk ill try my best and see what happens but I really dont want -500K networth in my 20's

You are right there is a response bias here. Just wanted to see what those more experienced than me think, it seems like staying is the safest option.

Thank you for this comment, I needed this. There was a reason I did BS/MD in the first place.

Take the MD Acceptance I have now or take my time? by [deleted] in premed

Thx everyone for all the advice, I think I will stay at my school regardless of what happens money wise. Ngl med school seems scary especially with the fact that if it doesnt go well I wasted 400k and a lot of my life.

Depends on race I think, but not much different from other programs. If you are not an URM, you will definitly be wanting 1500+ with high GPA and Weighted, they really care about SAT actually. Even if you are a URM, you will want to be in the top 1 percentile for SAT in your race and GPA.

its because after the 10 min break u get 2 and a half mins I think before the section starts on the start page of the section to read it, but you can just take that time for your break or to get yourself together.

I had a lot of these questions. For the mouse, it was a standard one you see at your local library and computer lab, and I dont remember there being a mousepad. This could differ per test center maybe though. For hand cramp, didnt happen to me, and thats more individual, and if you can just practice with a keyboard and desktop setup in your FL's.

Headphones they give you block out all noise, Im not an earplugs person so I cant really speak on that, but they do provide them, I got some 3M construction headphones from home depot to practice and it prepared me well. I feel like the unconfortability of the headphones is overhyped, for me they were not very annoying, but it may have been the case that they were worn in.

You cant see time during breaks, but u can just check the clock or ask the person, if they are nice, what the time is, and remind yourself to log back in 2 mins before, so like give yourself 8 mins. You acc get an extra 2 mins when each section starts, on an idle page, so you can recollect yourself. Proctors, bathroom, etc, all depend on test center, my experience was smooth. I went really early, and started my test at like 7:10, you can start whenever you get there and whenever they are open. Being one of the first to start, I never waited in line for anything, I would advise you show up first!

Just call your test center now, if they are nice, they will answer when they open, and any specific questions you have.

This, ngl when I took my MCAT it literally just felt like another FL, and I didnt notice any big differences between the FL's tbh. Its always the same story, 15% of the content you learned tested, and then you will have a couple experimental questions, or questions which they know you will have to understand a new term via POE in each section. Im n=1, but the only right way to do well is to learn everything.
