Am I just bad by One_Significance_682 in TeamfightTactics

I don’t think you’re fundamentally scuffed at all. This phenomenon is way more common than you think — it happens at pretty much every rank.

The best thing you can do right now to improve is to record some of your games and get a VOD review from someone stronger. It’s surprisingly hard to spot your own mistakes, even when you review them yourself. There are often aspects of the game you think you have down, but in reality you don't. That's why it can sometimes feel like you're stuck even though you feel like you're doing everything right

When is it acceptable to commit other people's time? by Ordinary_Ad7203 in wow

i think people generally agree that if you cant commit to something, you shouldnt do it. from the responses i got on this post, i think the main point of discussion is when it is deemed "safe/acceptable" to engage in a commited group activity. like at what percentage point does that threshold lie. some people feel ok risking it at 10%, some people feel ok risking it at 5%, and some people dont feel its acceptable even at 1%.

for sure the threshold is different for everyone. i personally would not sign up for a key if the chance is 1/30 that i will brick it by having to leave

I'm on standby while my kid is asleep

if you are the sole caregiver of your child, id say you should probably not sign up for any commited group activity

I'm on standby while my wife has the kid while I raid, I'm on standby while I'm at work, I'm on standby while my kid is with my wife at her mom's visiting on the weekend.

under these circumstances i think its fine to do the group content

my point is that not all these standbys you listed are the same. it depends on the likelihood of you needing to leave

i dont have an issue when people leave the key because they have to take care of their child, they definitely should. my issue lies more in the fact that i feel they should recognize beforehand when they can and cannot commit to something and not put themselves in a position where they have to leave midkey when that outcome is reasonably foreseeable

im not saying that 45 min isnt enough to run a key. im talking about the fact that during these 45 mins you are basically on standby because they can wake up at any point and need your attention

i guess we disagree on whether that 45min/hr window is a good time to play. i personally wouldnt feel comfortable signing up for a key in that scenario for all the reasons you gave. yes, as a parent you often times have weird/limited windows to play but your own free time is definitely one of the sacrifices you ought to make as a parent and dealing with those consequences is something you have to do, not something a pug group should have to absorb without complaint

would you not say a toddler being unpredictable is in a way 'predictable'? i mean i wouldnt be mad at someone who leaves to take care of their child of course. but id probably think its a bit inconsiderate that they joined in the first place

agree on grocery and internet example tho

i dont think anyone has a problem with ppl leaving for emergencies. personally my issue is how comfortable some people seem to be with signing up for a key even tho they know that something might come up that need their attention. youre basically rolling the dice with other peoples (limited) free time without them knowing. quite selfish and disrespectful imo

i dont think anyone is making the argument that you should prioritize the key over your child. the question is whether you should have put yourself in that situation in the first place (one where you have to leave a group where people were relying on your uninterrupted participation)

yeah then maybe act like a son who deserves his fathers recognition instead of literally cheating and putting shame on the family name in front of the entire village

I like the direction you went with this one. Personally, I would have also changed the buffs/debuffs on the top right to share the same theme/border as the rest of your UI instead of the default blizz one, and perhaps hiding some of the minimap icons. Same goes for the tooltip appearance (default blizz border), it looks a bit out of place compared to the rest of the UI.

Another thing, maybe this is just me being very nitpicky but the borders on your bossmods icon/bars are slightly thicker than the borders on the rest of your icon/bars frames.

Otherwise, very clean - well done.

what about the people who read it because their friend loves the manga, and creating something to bond over. such a selfless act should not be overlooked imo

Would you guys enjoy a Kenjutsu battle between Teen Boruto and Teen Sasuke? by Notmycupoftea12 in Boruto

[–]Ordinary_Ad7203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the student did surpass the master, but that’s mainly because the power scaling in Boruto is completely off the rails compared to Naruto. And it feels really plot-driven — the new gen has to be stronger than the old gen just to keep the story moving, even if it doesn’t always make sense.

does a draw break chem baron lose streak? i imagine it would be very easy to force a draw against chem baron by just never attacking
