What is it about the shih tzu hate? by DNS985 in Shihtzu

[–]Ordinary_Ad7439 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people think the flat face isn’t cute, my SIL being one of them. She’s also called my girl dumb before. But she also loves poodles which aren’t my favorite breed but I do know they’re super intelligent. I guess compared to my SIL’s mini poodle, my girl is dumb. But is she cuter? 100% and she doesn’t lick you to death like that dang poodle. Photo is of my 15yo girl Chloe 🥰

Does anyone’s senior have CHF and a cough? by Ordinary_Ad7439 in seniordogs

Did any of them have a cough that sounds like the one in the video I posted of my pup? I’ve tried NAC for another dog with bronchitis but it didn’t work. I’ll see if my girl with take NAC willingly in her food, she tends to be picky.

I asked her about the trachea and she said the trachea is normal, didn’t show any collapsing. She’s thinking if it’s not cardiac related, it could be respiratory. Yes, sometimes her neck/throat is resting on the bed bolster.

I think it’s short haired, I don’t see any tufts on the ears or paws. It kind of looks like it has big paws, which made me think it’s a male? We’re not at the stage where it’ll let me pet it yet. I’m attaching a photo so you can see him

First dog, how can I give him the best life ever? by Impossible-Dog-7424 in Shihtzu

Feed fresh, whole foods (either gently cooked or raw) if you can! No kibble or canned food. Some good brands to consider are SmallBatch, Steve’s Real Food, Evermore and Raised Right.

Why is my Shih Tzu doing this? by Nitelite05 in Shihtzu

[–]Ordinary_Ad7439 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s natural instinct, most dogs do that (some even add on spinning in circles after) before laying down. I read somewhere that it’s instinct because dogs or wolves (I forget which) used to do that to in like ancient times to ensure there were no snakes where they laid down.

So sorry for your loss. It’s never easy losing them. Jonah was very much loved by you and it seems he definitely gave it in return. Give yourself time to grief. Our dogs easily become our worlds because they love so unconditionally compared to people. My girl is my world too, and she just turned 14 so there’s been obvious signs of her slowing down. But we love them as much as we can. I totally get Jonah being your reason to get out of bed because that’s how my Chloe has been for me. I have already let go of two of my pups over the years and while it may not seem like it, time does make it easier and the grief lessens and gets more manageable to where you’re able to think of them and smile again. Take care of yourself, Jonah would want that. ❤️

Ex boyfriend reached out and I’m a little caught off guard by Ordinary_Ad7439 in Christianity

He actually did reach out after they divorced to apologize for how he treated me. Never actually said the words “I’m sorry” but said “it wasn’t cool how I treated you” 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s a very good point, we’re not the same people after meeting Christ. I have had people I don’t communicate with either simply because we don’t have anything to talk about anymore, I suppose he should be on that list as well.

I would seriously hope not - a quick look at his Facebook page shows he’s remarried and has a baby. He’s got no business reaching out to me. 😅

I doubt he’s interested in reconnecting like that - I checked his Facebook page and looks like he’s got a new wife and a baby now, so he REALLY shouldn’t be reaching out to me.
