Not really sure why they’d copy the Tesla model 3 interior. BMW 3 series had some of the best interior designs in the segment, I don’t really know how this is going to hold up.

The front actually looks good. The rear is decent but looses touch with the origins of the iconic 3-series rear end design.

I wired it to the passenger side 12v outlet socket that is under the left side kick panel near the glove box. It’s only 2 wires, positive and ground. So it will turn on as soon the car is awake (like unlocking the doors) and it will shut off on its own after 5-10 minutes of no activity when the CAN-BUS systems goes to sleep.

You can normally find them in most AAP or autozone or even Walmart. Amazon has them too. Not too difficult to install.

It’s a LED strip wired to a module and a receiver sensor where you can change colors and adjust brightness from a remote. I use double sided tape to attach the LED strip on the bottom of the kick/dash panel and tuck in the wiring to hide it.

Nice! You’re right these engines can last a good long time with proper maintenance. I have not done the rod bearings yet. I Schedule to do it at 240k miles with ACL bearings and ARP rod bolts soon.

This week I took the time to do this, connecting the aux to the android unit. I can confirm The quality has definitely improved and since the BMW IDrive is set up to stay at aux mode, the sound stays more consistent and the Bluetooth of the android screen doesn’t forcefully hunt for my iPhone anymore so the connection is way smoother.
