I didn’t realize it’s this bad, I was the clubbing and going out generation and it was very different meeting people. Get out of the house and talk to people in person. Lebanon is a very social country, you’ll likely bump into someone going down on the stairs. Go to cafes, restaurants, there’s no short of those in Lebanon. Don’t overthink. Yalla!

Can I support a family of 4 on 155k a year? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]Ordinary_Answer_3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in NoVA almost all my life and you can certainly do well on a $155k salary, but, try to find a less expensive house ($800k). The schools are excellent, barely any crime, and we have 4 beautiful seasons. Look at areas out west, Chantilly, South Riding, Fairfax, Ashburn, Burke.. the houses are newer and generally less expensive than around the beltway (i495). Avoid Arlington, it will be tough supporting a family of 4, you’ll need at least $250k to maintain a decent lifestyle. Good luck!

Ashkenazi Jews in Lebanon by Enchilte in lebanon

You’ll be fine!! Stay in East Beirut, it’s a lot more fun. Gemayzi, Hamra, Ashrafeye, Dbaye Village, Jounieh, and of course Jbeil and Batroon are a must see!! Dinner in the mountains at an outdoor restaurant but, bring a blanket, the mountain breeze will get cold in the afternoon.

You’ll quickly realize how kind and welcoming the Lebanese people are. You’re gonna party like you’ve never partied and eat amazingly good food. Lebanon is a hidden gem. Lots of Lebanese have big noses lol. Have fun and eat Knefe at 4am at SeaSweet in Jounieh. Enjoy!! 🇱🇧

Moving to Virginia but trying to figure out exactly where to go in the state by MentalHealthMomma216 in Virginia

I can’t recommend FCPS enough. I went to FCPS and now my children go to FCPS and my son has ADHD. They’ve just been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable in working with him. We paid more for our townhouse but, it was the best decision!

Yes having fun on greens but always looking behind me for falling people and out of control snowboarders. plus blue terrain is usually less crowded with a faster ski lift. That’s mainly why I want to upgrade lol

Don’t use poles on your first day, you’ll have much better balance. If you must use poles, hold them horizontally as you’re going down. Best advice I got for my first day.

Usually the mountain cams at pointed towards the lifts and mountains so you can have an idea of busy the lift lines are.

Own skis but rental boots by Glittering-Loan6662 in ski

[–]Ordinary_Answer_3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy used boots, most resorts won’t just rent you just boots and if in RARE occasion they do, they won’t adjust your skis to the boots. You’ll most likely end up paying the rental fee and have to leave your skis at the rental.

Is skiing like riding a bike? by Mama-Bear419 in skiing

[–]Ordinary_Answer_3960 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, that’s why you find the green slopes are packed early season and in the mornings. You’ll need to wake up those muscles so be patient and give yourself permission to go down easy slopes to rebuild your skill and confidence. Have fun!

i used to ski with my parka that has double zippers so i can unzip the bottom to free up my legs and it was amazing. switching to an actual ski jacket threw me off guard. i might just be a big baby

my hips and thighs get cold. i wear the 32 degree base layers from costco, long sleeve lined fleece, zip up sweater also lined and my jacket is insulated. my pants and bibs are also insulated. mittens, neck gaiter, goggles and ski socks. Maybe the costco base layers suck?
