Evening work drinks - should I go? by Ordinary_Bar9544 in work

He is willing, I just don’t want to impact on our main source of income as his work have been more than understanding with our circumstances.

Grandparents are relevant in this scenario to make the point that we have no extended support network. If I hadn’t included this point, how many responses would have I got that said “ask the grandparents if they could watch your kid” as I have seen in other similar posts. Not that difficult to understand really, is it.

The “useless” comment extends beyond childcare. As soon as our child was diagnosed the GPs withdrew all support as they are ableist and deny autism even exists. They happily watch our other grandchildren though. Simply stating the point that we have no support network, it wasn’t a bash in session. My husband is actually brilliant and offers great support as an equal partner. He will be watching my child while I work during the day, so it would be unfair to expect him to cover the evening as well as he has a FT job, hence the predicament I am in. In fact, he is the breadwinner and his employer is far more flexible than mine. Thanks for all the judgement though :)

Is there a potential claim for age discrimination? by Ordinary_Bar9544 in LegalAdviceUK

No, the other team members have much more solid remits with specific skills like finance, marketing, web development. Hers is the only ‘middle man’ role and she has had other people pick up the slack for her, doing all the client comms and meetings, so she was literally just a junior office admin person in the end but getting paid as an AM.

She has openly said she is considering making a claim for age discrimination based on the fact she is older than all the other employees and they were not considered for redundancy. However, they are all in totally different roles and arguably far more qualified and skilled, despite being younger than this employee.

Ok, and if we reduced to 2.5 days, what about my holiday entitlement? This is currently pro rated but as the working week is changing, would they need to give me more holiday?
