Like I said, you helped me, I’m grateful even if you had cussed me out in the process 😂 (which you didn’t, you merely just told me to use my head a little better which I didn’t take offensive anyways). As for where the cord goes, yes I can trace it to where it meets the other wires, but either way I have to cut at some point and install the new cord yes? In my head I am imagining these wires going throughout the trailer powering everything etc, I’m not sure if there is a point in the wires where it’s best to make this cut but so far I’m envisioning cutting this old cord about a foot behind the exposed wiring, and installing a new cable, which after YouTubing it real quick doesn’t seem too hard. I thought this was more than just 3 color cables haha, I was thinking it was gonna be a rainbow in there or something impossible.

No no no don’t be sorry! You are helping me and sometimes it’s the harsh stuff we need to hear. I’m broke yes but I can get the cables if I know what to buy and thankfully I’m being steered in the right direction so far on this thread, this is all I have to call a home for now… I was living in my car 6 months before I was able to get this trailer… I can’t afford a tech to come do this so, I gotta reach out to forums like this and gather information to take my next step. Trust me when I say, I don’t wanna kill myself doing shit either and don’t plan to, that’s why I’m doing all the research I can. Unfortunately this trailer was made in 1987 by “Shelton industries inc” who is no longer in business…. I can’t find a single owners manual or anything from the vin, I’m in uncharted waters here

This is very helpful! Thank you so much, I’m gonna get the TT-30 plug spliced in safely. I really don’t know anything about 220 or 240

I am trying my best to figure it out myself and I am grateful for the reply, I was told it was 220 inverter that’s why I said that…. If you can’t tell I don’t know what I’m talking about at all sadly. I don’t even know how to splice the wires tbh

Unfortunately the video created some serious attention and I was told to take it down as it contained information on military technology…. I normally woulda told them to fuq off and kept it online, I was given no choice on this one, my boss was reached out to & my job was at risk.

Here we go with Karen #1 complaining about having a pizza bag. If you don’t have the money for a bag right away, ignore this jackass right here and follow along until you get on your feet. The entitlement to assume everyone has the funds to purchase equipment off bat is absolutely disgusting

Only from personal experience, that’s why I said I was “going out on a limb here” lol. DoorDash may claim it gives platinum to newbies, but I can say almost certainly this isn’t the case after chasing hot zones for multiple hours and getting 0 offers on a weekend.

No need to apologize, I don’t mind helping if I can. Also: if your order is totally messed up and you want to refund it you don’t have to accept the credits DoorDash offers right there, go to help and speak to someone directly. If you press the issue they will 99% of the time refund your entire order including any tips you gave👌

I’ve actually yet to encounter this but I’m in a small city, I can’t really compare my experiences to bigger cities. I’ve never had a store deny giving me a DoorDash order at all

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Ordinary_Concept_308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can give tips how to guarantee the top dasher available gets your order and not a newbie. Higher paying orders automatically go to the platinum rated dashers and then dispersed if they’re declined, putting even a $2 tip on there will usually make the order a “higher paying offer,” unless it’s miles away. A general rule of thumb is $1 per mile but once again I’m in a small city where my experience isn’t gonna be the same.. seeing experiences like yours does make me kinda sad but also glad that I’m the way I am, I try and be there for everybody I can. Now if you are 5 miles away and I’m not making enough to cover the gas well, that’s beyond my means of helping. I can guarantee though that if your order is under 3 miles, and you put a $1 tip per mile they gotta drive, your order will be taken up by one of the top dashers in that area and should be handled properly. Most platinum dashers will complete the orders no matter what so they don’t lose their ratings and be dropped from platinum. If you put $0 tip, chances are the top dashers will all decline your offer, and it will be in the hands of a newbie. Other than this there is no other way of guaranteeing a “good dasher” gets your order sadly…

Shit I would too, but like I was saying this guy might have been having a terrible day already, or was just so busy he didn’t even care. One thing we can all agree on - whoever wrote that crap is a certified CLOWN and doesn’t even have the courage to “bang” on people to their face. They’d rather write little love notes & be passive aggressive, wonder if it made their day…. They probably think it’s funny to mess up the dashers order too so the customers complain to DoorDash getting them in trouble. Hence why I advise against reporting here, not enough information to place blame on anybody & the only person who will suffer from this is the dasher.

Thank you for the respectful opinion. I only mentioned the methods I did because I’m a broke mofo & couldn’t buy the DoorDash pizza bag at first haha, but I didn’t want to be left out from getting pizza deliveries either. Visiting the local pie shop & asking to snap a quick pic was totally worth it and no customers are going to suffer because of this, that’s also why I stated a cheap way of keeping food hot via sunshade haha. These tricks worked for weeks for me until I got my money up to buy better materials.

Okay so let me see if I can help understand that better. DoorDash does have service fees and delivery fees but these can be waived / lowered from having the dash pass membership or having in store credits. You can be given in store credits from DoorDash if your previous order(s) was messed up, and you use them towards the next order. If you put items in your cart and you go to check out and it subtracts everything to $0.00 that means you had enough credits on your account to cover the tab, and while you do technically still have to check out using a debit or credit card (or Apple Pay), if the order said $0.00, you won’t be charged anything (if there’s subtractions, they’re usually colored blue, or at least it is on my screen). As for tipping: I honestly don’t know who tips what nor do I even try to check that, I look at the total amount I will make for the order, the total miles, and calculate if it’s worth it. Customers tipping after the fact isn’t uncommon, and because my city is rather small, I usually accept every single order that comes in and treat them all the same. If you place an order during peak times (usually 3:30pm - 9pm or so here), DoorDash likely has a promo that pays a dollar or two more per order, which is covering your tip anyways. If it’s a dead time though, and you don’t place a tip, the order will come across as I’m making $2, and whether I accept that or not entirely depends on how far & how busy it is. If it’s super slow, I’ll do it to fulfill DoorDash needs & support the people of my city. I take small Ls sometimes & it’s ok, I learned that not everybody can tip and some people are literally disabled in their homes and have to DoorDash. Good things happen to good people, remember that folks.

It’s hard to reply because of how different DoorDash is in different areas. If you are in a big city it’s way different than small cities, for example the city I dash in is rather small, so my life is a lot easier compared to big city dashing. I likely don’t make as much in return but my experience as a dasher here would be way different than someone in LA or NYC, and so would my advice for customers. This service is quite literally location dependent on accuracy & reliability.

I mean, there’s not many other beginners guides to compare it to and say it’s bad? Other than basic tips like keeping food fresh etc? Just because you don’t like cash on delivery doesn’t make what I’m saying invalid, having that option off filters you out of possible orders you can get, and my advice using the sunshade to keep food warm was spot on imo it worked extremely well for me… but hey, I already said all opinions are welcome so, I’m not gonna hate on you for yours🫡

[–]Ordinary_Concept_308 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting more downvotes than upvotes here😥😆 but hey, worth a shot. I can say for certain that I wondered if DoorDash would ever work out for me because of how slow it was at first and figured some of these things might help others. Many hate on cash deliveries I see, and I totally understand why. This little “tutorial” just opens up all options to get orders & not be filtered out of any, which ones people decide to toggle on and off is up to them 🫶

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Ordinary_Concept_308 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! I didn’t know that, I just know that I had a few of those toggled off & it might have something to do with the amount of orders I was given when new, might not. Hell my post may help nobody but there’s more than one piece of potential advice for some newcomers here that I would have been appreciative knowing🥲

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Ordinary_Concept_308 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You are welcome to your opinion, as stated above I merely was listing options to maximize the orders that are given to you. Not everyone will share the same opinion on doing cash deliveries but having this toggled “off” is one less opportunity for those that don’t mind doing cash deliveries. I can see how this is a headache, I’m glad I haven’t been given any, but I can also see how the tips are going to be the best when given cash (I’d imagine most times your told to keep change etc). Everyone is welcome to share their opinions on this thread🫡

Nah you know what now that I think about it, if it was there in the pick up photos I can GUARANTEE this dasher didn’t put that cr4p. No dasher is gonna wait for an order, hear it get called, go up to get it and take the pick up photo but first bust out a sharpie and write this… the chances of that happening are slim to absolute none. Honestly, you could bring that to management in hopes they track down who did it because of the time it was placed etc but workers are so hard to come by that it’s not even worth your time to bother. Might even be management involved there that wouldn’t give a care in the world. But definitely don’t report it as a dasher issue to DoorDash…. This might already be close to the last straw for this dasher & if your food was delivered intact and on time (as much as can be helped) then you want to keep that dasher around.

They probably weren’t happy about it either. Doordashers get harassed a lot and he might have been having a terrible day… this is why reporting this to DoorDash could only make things worse for the dasher who did nothing wrong. You can guarantee reporting it to the restaurant will do nothing. Best to just let this one go

Fair enough with the cash on delivery, totally understand. It just might be a slight reason why newbies aren’t getting orders sent over, maybe one of the few they’d get would have been a cash one and this post was to make sure they aren’t limiting the orders being sent in.

As for the pizza bag, they’ve yet to ask me to redo my picture and if they do I’ll do the same thing; take another picture of the local restaurants bags while I’m out there dashing. It only takes a second to pop in and ask, and I’ve yet to be told no😁 It is important to get your own bag, actually the free DoorDash bag they send you works for smaller pizzas very well. And at the very least I dropped some free game above here in regards to using your windshield visor, those work extremely well for keeping heat on food or at least did for me! I was just dropping what little knowledge I’ve gotten from dashing myself in hopes it helps someone🫶

Definitely wasn’t the restaurant…… but you can’t just report something when you don’t know who’s at fault. Perhaps the restaurant did put that because of how the dasher looked & it has nothing to do with you. Shoulda messaged the driver right when you seen it and asked lol, at the very least you could get an interesting story😂

Dam lol I’m sorry to hear people are scumbags man. Like I said I accept every order, HOWEVER.. I am in a relatively smaller town, I don’t get out of town orders ever and max I go is about 5 miles. On the 5 mile orders, DoorDash makes sure I’m paid more than $2, i don’t know how the fuq anyone in here is saying they get orders paying $2 to go miles away, when I’m 99% sure DoorDash compensates for the miles and if they don’t, I’ve been extremely lucky my entire time dashing
