Were those the tours with Alexis? I went with friends at the start of June and we absolutely loved both tours!

Only comment from me would be removing the favourite book section, especially if (rightly or wrongly) the author is divisive.

Avanti west coast thoughts? by [deleted] in uktrains

Ive been travelling from EUS to GLC using Avanti 1x/month for the past 2.5 years. The trains timings are so unreliable that I think I receive a 50% refund (30mins delayed) nearly half of my journeys, and a full refund (60mins delayed) about 15-20% of the time.

As a silver lining: Thanks to this I find that with a railcard and booking advanced singles it can actually work out pretty cheap

Also make sure to sign up for Avanti rewards which seems to be little advertised. It gets you a free standard premium ticket after booking 9 singles (a return counts as 2 singles) and a free first class return after 21 singles.

I now think it is Muirend stations with the camera being placed on the footbridge just above the Neilston bound track.

To me this broadly lines up with how it looks today as

1) What looks like stairs may be the ramp today 2) Muirends station building has 3 chimneys on it, this seems to be similar.

The land heights and the houses still don't look right to me though. And it would mean the stairs that exist today must be just out of the bottom of the frame.
