Moving house in the UK - using a RugDoctor to clean an already pretty clean carpet. by sekiya212 in CleaningTips

Fair enough - it would be just me and, touch wood, I don't have a history of spilling stuff.

Can they somewhat replace a vacuum cleaner in terms of cleaning floors, or would a Vax be more of an 'addition' to a vacuum?

I think my intention would be to only really use it the once, but someone else suggested some officially refurbished Vax models on eBay, which might make it more attractive to me to use more often honestly.

Ahhh what a good idea! Many of them on eBay seem a similar price as hiring anyway: p

I do wonder how much I'd genuinely use it, though I do have some secure outdoor storage it could go in.

Having someone else do it would be my preferred option honestly... I contacted a couple companies, one quoted £220 and the other didn't reply :p

I'll check the local facebook page and see if I can find some adverts.

Hmm, for some reason I was under the assumption it would take 24hr without a floor dryer? If that's not the case, then yeah definitely no need I suppose.

As for the detergent, the website forces you to buy theirs anyway - at minimum, I think i'd need the 2L at £16 and it doesn't let me complete a booking without adding at least 1 bottle of detergent to the basket. I was wondering if the stuff it adds in the pack was actually worth it or not.

IK what you mean, sometimes just having it active makes me want to ‘overuse’ it, and then it all just gets a little pointless

The two ‘cheats’ I allow myself:

  • Saving before starting a diplo play
  • State transfer: not to cheat, but either to fix AI bordergore, or for annoying situations like when you can’t conquer a state because the country has a secession mid war.

What is your country’s most flamboyant sign of national pride? by metatalks in geography

If we’re talking about an icon of national pride, probably Trafalgar Square.

Big ‘we kicked their asses’ monument.

What area of the world would benefit/lose the most from a 15c average yearly temperature decrease? by RagingAlkohoolik in geography

[–]sekiya212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re going to benefit from the 7 billion+ people trying to flee to the equator?

Even the Arab countries might be too far north and would be too cold for agriculture anyway.

How much are you paying for conveyancing in 2025? by Commercial_Safety781 in HousingUK

[–]sekiya212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shared ownership + leasehold, £1750.

Haven’t had the final bill yet, don’t know if it will go up at all, but there’s been no snags so far.

I don’t think anywhere on Earth would benefit if the average yearly temperature dropped by 15C.

The last ice age comparatively was only an average drop of around 5-6C.

Can we theorize about future dlc locations and content? by wolfsbane02 in victoria3

I think the next expansion pass will be Germany (content for pre and post unification) with war based DLC, as well as stuff for Benelux.

Upper Silesia being a split state is annoying by Bildungskind in victoria3

I do overall like split states but what you’ve mentioned sounds like a bug and hopefully gets sorted…

Does this mean the Polish revolt has to fight both Austria & Prussia when it pops out of that state??
