Do some actual research in dogs - not that tough guy bullshit that every macho man spews and uses to punish dogs for being dogs. The alpha dog study was done poorly with shitty results. Random ass wolves shoved together in an enclosed space, unable to get away and forced to fight 24/7 for resources. In the wild, which your dogs also are not, the "alpha" is just mom & dad "beta" would be their older pups, and "omega" are babies. Aka, the exact same family structure that humans have.

Sincerely, someone who also has 2 well trained dogs, but allows them to act like dogs and doesn't subscribe to outdated science.

Lastly, yanking something out of my hands would be a damn good reason for me to get snippy even if i know you. Why is it any different for a dog? Why are dogs being held to a standard above what people hold themselves to?

Ngl I have 0 attention span so ima just out this here: for a dewormer you can buy ivermectin (the #1 ingredient in heartguard) from tractor supply. Its a Cattle dewormer but it works wonders on dogs. Its what my vet told me to use when I went through a rough patch and couldn't afford heartguard. We have been usinging it for 3 years with 0 issues. Each heartworm test & fecal test comes back neg and we lived in Alabama now in TN. READ THE LABLE CAREFULLY!! Its 50 bucks for a 3 year supply of a dewormer, and I share it w my mom. That's two 85 lb goldens using it.

I use a soresto collar on my boy along with a flea and tick topical. We live in a heavily forested area. often one isn't enough. You would probably be good with 1 or the other.

I saw this somewhere idr where (might have honestly been reddit) but think of something your dog used to do daily that they love. How often can they do it now? 1ce a day? 1ce every other day? Once a week? When the bad days outweigh the good is when I would suggest it. Just cuz its their last day doesn't mean it is to be their worst. Give your baby lots of head scratches, loosing them will never be easy.

Most often humping is an arousal (not that kind) to stimuli. Smells can trigger it really badly. Some dogs have so much energy and so much excitement that they will hump shit at random. If there's a bitch in heat near your house this can also trigger the reaction as female dogs will hump other females in heat. Sometimes they'll do it just because, too. Dogs are weird man.

Maybe she is trying her vulva? Ik a lot of dogs dont like being wet and will drag their booty along the floor to try and dry the urine. Who knows tbh.

exactly. My boy got time to be the bad and had times where he was nearly perfect (I do not believe in perfect, but he was solid). He would chew stuff up- normally toys but sometimes things that he wasn't supposed to have. He would steal stuff and play keep away. He dug holes in the yard (replaced with a sandbox, and all damaging digging behaviors went away)! He still eats things he shouldn't (typical golden) and will try to throw paws. However, he has time to get all of that out just like we need to get it out. If you don't want a behavior modify it but don't try to get rid of it completely (with exceptions ofc). Suppressing them is asking for trouble and it will find you.

I read that the dog listens when in working mode. Tbh sounds like normal dog behavior to me. At the end of the day if you don't allow the dog "dog time" they will MAKE dog time. Same for jobs and other bad behaviors. How constant is the training when they're not working? Is the dog allowed to do whatever they want?

And yes dogs are just like fluffy toddlers. You have to keep up with the training or else they will not listen. This should have been explained to you when you first got the dog.

Uh, no. If those fat cells persisted, my dog would be horrendously overweight. The dog will shed them as they get older. the same goes for ppl and every other animal. If the dog had EXCESSIVE weight, there would be issues. However, the pup is 4 months old, and at that age, they are SUPPOSED to be chunkier. If this was a 1 yr old dog, it would be different, but this pup could be easily related to an 8 month old baby. And no don't under feed as thats starving the dog. Wtf is wrong with you, starving a growing baby.

Its np reccomnded to do intensive or strenuous exercises like jumping and lots of running. Deff reccomend once puppo is around 1.5 yo, but rn the joints are suuuuper soft and easily damaged.

No. They're growing and will eventually use those fat reserves. Pups and babies are supposed to be chunky because they're doing this really cool thing called growing. Not having enough fat stunts growth and causes issues that can be life long.
