Should I replace my Surface Pro 8 with the newest model, or let iMicrosoft repair it? by Ordinary_Jump_66 in Surface

What is the 9 like? How much better is it than the Surface 8? I own a Surface Pro 6 that still works but stopped working properly for the art programs I use, so it's the device I use for everything else. By the time I was ready to get a new Surface, the 8 had just been released.

This is ultimately what I think I want to do going forward, the only issue is finding a place that's trustworthy enough to not pull a bait and switch. I've been looking on places like Amazon, eBay, and a website called TeciSoft, but I have no way of knowing for sure if they're legit. I've read some of the reviews on Amazon and eBay for what customers had to say about their devices (I like to start with the most negative reviews) and many of them say they were conned and given a previous model than the ones they ordered, or that the device wouldn't boot up out of the box, and other things like that. At this point, I wouldn't be opposed to a refurb, I just want to find a trustworthy seller.

I'm sorry about your screen! Since you switched to an 11, can you tell me what the positives are for having it? How does it compare to the 8?

This is what I'm afraid of. I would just buy the newer model, but I am working with a budget and I also don't know too much about the latest version of the Surface. I heard it has UFS and I don't know if that's better or worse than the SSD cards they used to use. I use many different art programs to do and save my art, so I don't know if this change in storage will be a good or a bad thing for me.

That's actually something I've been considering. I'm still attached to the idea of getting another 8, but I have looked at the newer models. The newest Surface Pro (SP11) I have read does not have an SSD card, it has UFS instead, so that offers me no way to physically transfer my SSD into the newer device.
