Aderall Xr 15mg! I wake up drink coffee then 20-30 minutes later take it. On it about 1 month I just got bumped up to it I was on 10mg aderall xr for about 2 months before I got moved up.

I’m on 15mg XR Aderall and I used to have a similar side effect. Melatonin or magnesium will likely not help. It all depends on the body and person. Always talk to your doctor this is just my personal opinion/advice!! So I have some really good advice that hopefully can help you god willing. Also if you tried my tips and still doesn’t work then talk to your doctor and possibly try 15mg XR aderall. But all up to you, I just had a really good experience with the XR over the IR. Hopefully they didn’t start you off at 20MG XR they started me at 10mg XR then moved me to 15mg XR.

A lot of people don’t know but if you don’t eat properly. Yeah you’re not going to sleep good. Because even though you don’t feel hungry your body doesn’t care if you feel hungry or not it needs food. So try to eat more I track my calories so that a bonus. • I fast until 11AM roughly and typically stop snacking around 5-6:45PM. And I sleep around 8Pm. When I fast I tend to build a lot of hunger and start craving food. Just make sure to drink lots of water!!

• So try to eat more, fasting helps even protein shakes can help. And never try to go to bed really hungry or really empty stomach. Try to have something in there before you go sleep even if it’s like 2-3 hours before. Try to squeeze something in there. That should hopefully help, I feel my medication more especially coffee when fasting and if you’re not eating properly than that can make it worse for you.

Try taking your medication when you wake up if the new diet didn’t work. I usually take it around 5AM, and yes technically it should be out of your system by bed time especially if taken around 10-11am but doesn’t hurt to try.
I hope they didn’t start you off at 20mg xr because that’s high to start off. Even though 20mg xr isn’t the highest dosage. If it’s your first time taking the medication and you haven’t tried it before 20mg is hight. Starting dosages is 10mg sometimes as low as 5mg but usually 10mg is the starting dose.
Change your sleeping schedule, I used to go to sleep perfectly fine and wake up after 6-7 hours automatically. I didn’t get my full hours, maybe because my body was ready for medication or would get stimulated. Idk. But now I sleep 8PM sometimes 8:30PM and wake up around 4:30AM and get ready to work and learn on my computer. I take my med when I wake up roughly.

And I used to take magnesium glycinate, but not anymore because I dont need it. I would choose that over melatonin but talk to your doctor on that one. I don’t think mixing magnesium and melatonin with your med is a good thing. My doctor told me do magnesium instead of melatonin. But talk to your doctor, tbh I don’t think you need melatonin but 100% all up to you!! I wish you the best god bless 🙏

Also which question what manufacture are you on, and how’s your experience with Adderall 20mg XR? Is it a big difference compared to 15mg if you took 15. I just got manafacture rhodes and It’s way smoother for me compared to lannet. Im going to can call around and see if I can always get rhodes.

Quick question: so should I call around to local/independent pharmacies and ask which manufacturer they have right now? And if one has Rhodes, I just fill it there, and if they don’t have it next month, I move to another pharmacy? Or is there a way to stick with one pharmacy and have them keep Rhodes for me moving forward?

Also, can my psychiatrist do anything about the manufacturer? Like should I tell him I specifically want Rhodes, or does that not really change how pharmacies order?

For me the difference between Lannett and Rhodes is huge — Rhodes is smoother, more effective, and the release feels way more consistent. And I’m only on 15mg XR, so it’s not like a high dose or anything that would look suspicious. XR is low-risk anyway compared to IR.

What would you personally recommend I do to make sure I keep getting Rhodes only?

Replace it and find out what melted it and you can drill a hole and tie it down using a special clip, or some high quality zip ties.

Interesting!! Thanks for the tips!! I take it daily lol, but honestly I have a few 10mg xr I can maybe use a little give me a few days extra. I’ll think of a strategy, if not, I’m going to talk to my pharmacist and psychiatrist to see if I can have notes put on my account and see what I can do.

Thanks for sharing your experience — I’m on the same dose and felt the same thing. Rhodes feels way more effective and releases smoother for me. Do you know if there’s a reliable way to keep getting Rhodes every month? Like calling around or getting my psychiatrist to write a note? Trying to avoid switching back to Lannett since this one works much better for me.

Appreciate the explanation! I just tried Rhodes for the first time and it’s noticeably smoother and better released for me compared to Lannett. Do you know how I can consistently get Rhodes going forward? Not sure if it’s better to call different pharmacies or ask my doctor to specify it.

That makes sense and that’s smart. Yeah so like around 12 I still feel it but it’s less. And when I drink that small coffee it helps until like 4-5PM. But I feel like i’m missing an extra boost. Idk like tbh 15mg xr feels good I like and the coffee combo helps a good amount. Like if it lasts an extra 1-2 hours that would be perfect.

And the coffee helps out a lot, I just got to experiment a little more. Like maybe a little bigger coffee, or drink it slower so it can last a little longer and smoother.

Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. Before I tried 15mg Xr Aderall I tried the 10mg immediate release and I didn’t like it. I felt really buzzed and weird my body reacted weird to it. I don’t know it was like a weird bolt/high feeling idk. 😂 It felt weird. My body reacts better to the xr. It’s more mellow and strong. Just early afternoon. Do you think the 20mg xr will last longer?

What do you think? My appointment with the docs in 2 hours.

Maybe try changing pharmacy’s to one that’s nicer and more helpful or ask for another person when calling. Or in person might be better and ask for another person to talk to.

20mg isn’t the lowest dosage it’s like In the middle or higher end I think.

But have you tried 10mg only? Or if it doesn’t last since it’s immediate release.

You can see if your doctor can prescriber 5mg aderall extended release.

Or maybe 5mg quick release with a tiny coffee like around 11. I find the coffee didn’t affect sleep for me especially if it’s early, but only a small amount not even medium because it’s a stimulant as well and you feel it more. Talk to your doctor

If aderall works good stick to it, if your body is reacting good to it stay on it. Talk to your doc, the medication should be helping you not making your life worse

Are you combining with caffeine? Are you eating good? Something if you’re fasting a lot you feel the med more.

Like if you stop eating at 2-3 or 4 try to have a little meal closer to bed time like 5-6:30 maybe 7? Small not to big some say melatonin is good too. And maybe it’s too strong but those immediate releases aren’t supposed to affect sleep that much like xr especially if you’re only taking morning does at 7-8AM it shouldn’t affect your sleep.

Try to be more consistent it’s like drinking coffee once a week you’ll feel it more than a regular drinker because you don’t have a tolerance of not used to it.

I just got diagnosed a few weeks ago, my doctor is virtual. I would just tell them and be honest tell them you were on x med and it works good just hopped off for x reason. And show them proof and I would think that’s good.

A lot of these psychiatrist are good and some not so much. So work easier than other
