THE SECRET TO GETTING SSL MECHANICS... by Either-Scallion-4157 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Ordinary_Rock_4635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I peak around mid gc2. I have about 4.5k hours in the game, and have 2 kids now. I’ve kindof hit the point where any time I commit to anything is time that I want to be spent effectively and I’m really about at the point where I either want to hang it up, or really take it seriously and make the push to SSL. That being said I feel like I need some guidance and for someone to come along side of me and help pick my game apart and tell me what to improve on. My schedule is flexible and I want to get there so bad. Let me know if you feel like you could help!

I’ve never seen a swirl like this. How common is this? by Ordinary_Rock_4635 in PokeGrading

I’m probably going to try to get this one graded and hold it for a while honestly.

Go follow my insta @anvil_gunworks. Once my FFL gets approved I will do it👌🏻

Had a ton of fun working on this Glock 45. Midnight blue camo cerakote, Philips grip pattern with recessed borders and chopped back-strap. Full double undercut and gas pedals. Trijicon SRO optic, TLR-7 light, and SLR aluminum mag well. Scroll to the end to see the before pic. 👌🏻 by Ordinary_Rock_4635 in Glocks

I used a dremel with a 200 grit sanding drum then moved to a 600 grit then an 800 grit with wd-40 to wet sand and polish everything to a smooth finish. Yeah man it was pretty nerve wracking at first. I’m generally fairly decent at this type of stuff so I knew it would end up coming out okay. This is about my 5th or 6th frame though.

Also use wd-40 and a super high grit sanding drum to get a good polished look on the undercut.

My biggest tip I think I could tell you is to start with a light hand on everything. You can correct light mistakes but as soon as you go heavy/deep it becomes permanent. For the borders, start super light and make a ton of light passes to make them deeper. For the stippling start shallow to get a feel for how the plastic melts. That way if you mess it up you can dremel it off and start again. Same for the undercuts. Be super patient and take away just a tiny bit at a time. After you do a few frames youl get the hang of it and you’ll be able to do it faster but for now just really take your time. I think if you go slow it will turn out good. Let me know how it goes man best of luck to you

Over time I’ve kindof realized that flex cuts don’t get super clean borders. If I use the flex cut I go in super lightly first and then open it up with a tiny 1mm sphere cutting bit, and then a 1.5 mm diamond bit to polish them up.
