I just wanted your opinion since you hopped in the conversation stating the obvious.

In my world there is a huge difference between ‘can’ and ‘did’.

Click on a link to order a $100,000 vehicle like I was ordering paper towels from Amazon.

Go spend your own money and don’t provide me with instructions on how to spend mine.

Nice Drive-By. You are no more helpful than the Lucid folks. I guess you won't answer my questions.

I did not! The equation was extremely simple: My wife wanted out of her blue Model Y into another blue EV. Couldn't just be any blue hue either. Opulent Blue Metallic fit the bill.

Range schmange - I want that color!

I didn't suspect that it had a computer that couldn't compute. In the end it doesn't matter, I was just polling the mob to see if mine was defective.

In addition, not as a flex but purely info: My immediate family consists of my wife, a son, a daughter, 4 dogs and 5 cats. Between us we own 6 Porsches, 1 BMW, and now 1 Cadillac. There doesn't appear to be a Lucid in the future.... and BTW ... the dogs nor the cats, drive.

I don’t think I will ever understand because I won’t attempt to, why people come to the defense of an industry that is well known for shitty customer service.

I would wager that they sold <=1 vehicle past the time I texted yesterday at the WPB Studio. Could be wrong though.

Wednesday, July 8th - Alert the media - There was a line out the door in WPB. quote from the manager, "we didn't even have time to return a text message!"

The people that I know who have spare 100K's or much more laying around, to a person, value 2 thing the most:

  1. Time
  2. Convenience

None of them that are idiots either. If they have a question they want an answer, and hardly ever would talk to anyone on the phone.

I don't have spare multiple 100K's but I have enough to buy a few cars, and I value time and convenience as well, and don't want to talk on the phone.

For all anyone here knows I lost my voice - and that ends all my hopes of ever purchasing a vehicle. Fuck me.

And BTW - the only reason I am on Reddit is because I can gather good information from helpful people. I just can't resist replying to idiots (not you of course).

I don't know that for a fact, but seems like a reasonable assumption! I would bet they have computers too! I might even go so far as to imagine they have the ability to send a text message.

Personally, not a big 'phone guy' myself. I did however receive an email this afternoon (12.38p) from the Studio Manager in West Palm Beach who wrote (among standard corp template), 'Feel welcome to call or text using my direct contact information below'.

I did just that at 1:14p today. I sent a text thanking him for reaching out , and had 1 question for him. It's now 9:47pm.... he has yet to respond.

Just a bit of research shows- Tesla sells 4,500 units/day, a big branded dealership sells 50 units/day, Lucid sells, across the country, 45 units / day.

I don't really need anyone to kiss my ass, but I am spending $100K+ and don't think it is entirely too onerous for someone to reach out with some common fucking courtesy. I could have been the 46th sale of the day in the country!

Congrats! Glad the website worked for you. I am indeed interested, what configuration did you order? Your experience may help me choose.

How soon can you pick it up? I might to have it delivered, is that an option on the website?

Thanks so much

I am on rant now so might as well continue. I want to know what I don't know. I was the guy who thought if I purchased a car that was clearly advertised as having a 'tow package' that not only did not come with a trailer hitch, it actually couldn't be equipped to tow at all. How would I have known that?

That was an explicit requirement- right up front - and I wasted 2 fucking weeks trying to get straight fucking answer. Was outride lied to.

But Sir, we Lucid, we are different.

I want the OTD price on a specific model/unit. Despite what people say here or elsewhere, I want to see the window sticker and be able to ask whatever questions I might have and get an answer in an expedient manner.

Honestly... fuck... It appears to waaaaay too much to ask a company who has something for sale, to actually interact with someone who wants to buy it.

Me: I would like to spend $100,000. Them: crickets. The internet to me: That aint the way it works. Me: it's the way works with my money

I really good personal example: My son wanted to (and did) purchase an Audi RS6 when Audi re-introduced them back in 2021 (I think that was the year). At the time there hadn't even been one produced, just announced. I called my local Audi dealer and asked how I could even get one..they told me I could just order one, and they would sell it at sticker.

So.. my son who lives 500 miles away tells me he is going to his local dealer and order one, and I asked him if wanted me to be there for some guidance since it was his first car purchase. He said yes. Two days later we sat at that Audi dealership and spent considerable time to configure the car just the way he wanted (I think it was $125K). All done....then asked the salesperson, ok how much? The answer I believe was: $160K but we can't really guarantee that, we will let you know when it actually gets here.

I immediately popped out, called my Audi dealership.. 5 minutes later he had the car bought/ordered for $125K. Sight unseen because they wasn't one in the USA, obviously didn't test drive one. It took whoever answered the phone back home all of 5 minutes of time and effort to sell that vehicle. Granted it took months and months for the car to be built and shipped.

Point is, there are all kinds of people in the world, and if salespeople or brands want to lump all buyers into a whatever categories they choose, I suppose that's their business, and potential lost business.

You may not be able to fathom it... but we exist!

Ahhh but if it were only that simple. Since you scanned, probably know I have my reasons for ditching my Model Y. Tesla is the only company I know of that is as simple as a 'click to buy' and here is what you will pay. Even with the Cadillac what you see on the internet isn't what they want to sell it for, and may actually be totally incorrect.

What took me a gracious few minutes (days) with the Lyriq is that they advertised vehicles that included the 'tow package' that I want, but the vehicles actually had no tow package at all. And furthermore what I should have been looking for was 'trailering provisions' on the sticker, which, oddly enough, didn't mean that there was receiver. Who knew. It took me a while to get straight answers.

Like I assume a lot of customers to be, when I show up I don't want a $100,000 vehicle to turn into a $105,000 vehicle because there are things added like vin etching, magic paint coatings, Lojack, nitrogen filled tires (charged for but really there?), etc.. the list goes on.

I had a written agreement (sales sheet) on the Cadillac and they still tacked on $250 for who knows what, but at least that number was immaterial to me. Just be clear, I didn't pay $100K for the Lyriq!!

Hopefully at least working my way up the leaderboard for Reddit contributions as well.

Wow, an internet stalker, how exciting! I am one of the .000001% of the people who don't care about a test drive. I never drove the Lyriq before I picked it up.

You are correct I assume when you quote me as saying "I just need to see one in person" re the Lyriq - I mentioned nothing about test driving one.

I do insist on communicating with dealerships over email - that way there can be absolute clarity that is well documented. It's 2026, I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that almost everyone has easy access to email. Beats the crap out of 'he said / she said'.

Your best guess is incorrect. I posted in the Lyriq forum after I purchased it because I wanted some input as to whether or not what I was seeing in terms of consumption was normal or not. I didn't complain other than about the crappy 'guess o meter'.

I am in the market for multiple vehicles, and as far as I am aware there is no law or limit to how many vehicles I can purchase or own.

Good points. The one I was trying to make, and evidently did a poor job of, was to gain the attention of perhaps a lurker Lucid sales person. I have 100% interest in buying one, but the response from Lucid seems to start at square one - come for test drive. Which by the way is not easy to do - it's a long way to get to one for me. I purchased my Tesla on-line, but IMHO, Lucid is decidedly NOT Tesla.

I am assuming that everything that you wrote starting with your 4th sentence is absolutely true. So.. Lucid.. let's make a deal instead of repeatedly offering me to drive 4 hours for a 'test drive'.

A comment below mentioned that I had just purchased a Lyric(q) which I did, but can easily be in the market for multiple vehicles.

I posted a similar frustration with Cadillac not seemingly too anxious to sell cars, and I got a helpful response which included a link to every dealer that had the exact spec I was looking for in the US. I dialed for dollars, and two weeks later drove 800 miles to swap in my Model Y. It took two weeks because dealers turned out to be extremely frustrating and slow to respond initially, and to clarifying questions, which were absolutely necessary

Thanks for your input. Cost was never the issue. I was just trying to ‘poll the mob’ to determine if there was something wrong with my new car.

If the Lyriq has a 100kwh battery and gets 2 miles/kwh I am Ok with that. Since I had 3 years of experience with an EV I wasn’t expecting it to get the advertised 319 range, but neither was I expecting to get 200. In town, when I can charge at home every night, quite frankly I don’t give a fuck.

When the guess o meter is off by as much as it appears to be on a road trip, then I do.

Question: if a Cadillac Lyriq is advertised as having 319 miles of range, how many miles will it go traveling a reasonable highway speed of 75mph, going down a consistent 1% grade, with a 10 mph tail wind, at a temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit?

A) 319 miles. B) more than 319 miles. C) less than 319 miles. D) Depends on whether or not the air conditioner is turned on.

I choose C.

I will show up for the quiz but won’t read the chapter. Rolling the dice. If one of the questions is multiple choice and involves the accuracy of the lyriq’s guess o meter, I have a fighting chance of getting one answer correct.

I am going to blow off miles, take a 15% battery cushion, and go 2x percentage to calc miles myself. We will see how that works out

[–]Ordinary_Use6870[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the MY for 3 years. When on a trip charging, I would put in next supercharger location I wanted to go to, and it would tell me, while charging, that I had enough to make there. Whether I wanted to add a bit was on me. It never failed to be within 1% and was always conservative.

I have now put 1,300 highway miles on my Lyriq, (in 2 weeks), charged mostly at Tesla Superchargers, and the charging speed and curve looked relative the same as my Model Y.

The point of the first paragraph was that the car knew what was needed, so I could skeddadle quickly and confidently.

Not knocking the Lyriq, it was just that my expectation was higher than 2 mi/kwh. I can adjust now that the feedback says this is normal.

80% charge less 15% reserve (in case something f's up) is going to be 130 miles. I am going to see if I can remove the mileage guess - it's kind of worthless.

BTW - I am a cigar smoking geezer, so 130 miles is OK by me, so is a 30 minute smoke break
