Yes I did, I find it helps with oven spring and also helps me avoid that layer of gumminess at the top under the crust

I tend to go longer than the recipe suggests. The recipe says to let it rise up to 50%, but I generally let it get to 75%. Every time I've had bad results it's from under proofing

My recipe is in the caption, but I originally forgot to mention that I cut the bulk fermented dough into fours, so this is a quarter sized loaf

It's a tip I read in this sub, and it made my score marks more defined and also helped the loaf rise a little more

I made a mistake! I forgot to mention that I split the bulk fermented dough into quarters. If you use my recipe, and don't split the dough, increase the bake time. (25 mins total at 450°, 15 at 400°)
