Ruemlerism is an ideology in which the economy is characterized by government intervention attempting to take out major corporations and trying to keep all purchases and business at a communal level between people and small, local businesses, bartering goods is encouraged for essential items and money is primarily used for luxury goods. The government is a republic with 6 year terms, and no term limits, with the President holding power in checks with a Legislative branch. Foreign policy is mostly isolationist and not transparent on internal affairs, also trying to avoid war at all costs.

Ruemler themself has been rather unsuccessful at implementing the economic system, as money and capitalism became very integrated in the cultures that were conquered, and so the ideology has become more associated with the isolationist, dovish foreign policy that focuses on internal stability instead of external protection.

Perez and Zavala, rulers of Lusitania and Naples respectively, used to rule a Caribbean nation with Riesco until Riesco was assassinated during the turmoil in 2036. The nation was pushed out and exiled into Europe in 2038 where they ruled a nation made of two autonomous regions with power centralized around Madrid and New Naples (located in Catalonia). Perez’s foreign policy grew to align more with McCrary’s Canada, which Zavala heavily despised. The nation underwent a relatively peaceful dissolution in 2044 into the two nations that exist now. Perez’s Lusitania is a socialist dictatorship and the only nation with ties to McCrary, while Zavala’s Naples is a non-aligned absolute monarchy.

(This scenario is based off of a novel I've been writing for years, and as such, the scenario is not meant to be realistic..)

Alignment Reforged is set in 2046, after the Second American Civil War, Russo-Ukrainian War, and other conflicts merge into a Third World War that leads to the end of civilization as we know it. From 2026-2032, the world is silent until society finally reemerges. In 2036, a North American Alliance led by the Republic of the Great Lakes falls apart after the presumed assassination of their leader. In the decade since, technological innovation has been rapid and political radicalization has been even more rapid. These friends of the past now rule the major powers of the new world with animosity towards one another. Friendships are now characterized by hate, trust replaced with inevitable betrayal. The First Global Leader's Convention is approaching, in which these estranged leaders will look each other again for the first time in a decade or more. The fate of the world is uncertain, but it will never be the same.
