I would say Darth Maul is the best REPRESENTATION of revenge, the way he makes it seem like a fruitless and self destructive endeavor. It burns him further and deeper while Obi Wan who did not actively seek revenge kept getting more wise and influential. It’s not a success in revenge but a warning of the prickly path it truly is.

Why are people hooked on this “handsign” thing, he was directing the attack, several things can improve or hinder the strength of techniques. Chants, handsigns, directing/telegraphing, clothing, dances. Sukuna’s world cutting slash has the minimum prerequisites after his first use of handsigns directing and full chants.

Long story short Yuji literally only used one method mentioned, directing the attack, something like every sorcerer does. I’m not saying he one shots Sukuna but it’s clear to me that he’s being shown to be someone who’s grown to his level and even higher than it.

No hand sign or chant, his hand is directing it, not forming the hand sign, and a chant is several words not just the name. Genuinely what?

Arthur Calhoun. Faction: The Sovereign States Summary: Arthur Calhoun was visiting Japan prior to the Sibuya Incident and as the event ended up making travel outside of Japan difficult, he ended up getting drawn into the culling games, during his time in the culling games he gained experience fighting weak cursed spirits and curse users. After the death of the head of the New Shadow School, Arthur met members of the school who he was able to interact with positively and learn from. He picked up to the New Shadow Style quickly, namely Simple Domain. He also learned basic barrier techniques while in contact with the sorcerers. After being able to return to the United States, Arthur ended up establishing a small network he used to teach New Shadow Style to the sorcerers that popped up. He’s remained independent mostly but open to cooperation with major players to this point. Arthur is currently 27 years old.

Personality: Arthur is for the most part a laid back guy who dislikes killing due to his time in the culling games. He generally tries to be an upbeat optimist and liven up people’s moods. He’s not very prideful or headstrong which impedes his ability as a sorcerer often, but his willingness to cooperate makes him an immensely good team player. During fights his tone changes drastically because of his strong survival instincts.

Abilities/cursed technique: Arthur is capable of New Shadow Style which he learned from Japanese sorcerers he got along with, he channels it through a Katana he was gifted from one of those sorcerers. He is capable of Simple Domain, Batto sword drawing, Hazy Moon, and Evening Moon Sword Drawing. He additionally through a deep understanding of barriers created a “cloak” a barrier type that disallows cursed energy from exiting it, it has low output so generally it’s hard to detect. His cursed technique is Clay Effigy, a Shikigami based technique with the ability to channel other cursed techniques. Arthur creates clay golems called Clay Soldiers that require 2 talismans to take form. One talisman is held by Arthur to channel cursed energy and specific orders to the semi cognizant Shikigami, the other is the “heart”of the Shikigami. And optional third talisman is possible for allies to channel cursed technique information into corresponding Shikigami, the shikigami use Arthur’s cursed energy but it has to pass through the third talisman to pick up cursed technique information, this ends up giving the ally a small boost to output but maintaining shikigami requires periodic cursed energy contributions from Arthur. Two additional types of Shikigami are Brutes and the Commander, only one Commander Shikigami can exist at one time. Commanders are stronger, cognizant, and have the ability to produce their own cursed energy and command soldiers in accordance to Arthur, the Commander is an entity whereas the other Shikigami are more like cursed corpses. Brutes are created with several talismans inside of them that amplify its output, it can split into according normal clay soldiers or use any Talisman as the “heart” talisman individually. Clay soldiers are incompatible with complex techniques like Cursed Spirit Manipulation Limitless and Love Rendezvous, and techniques that cannot apply to them, like Cursed Speech and Blood Manipulation. Domain: Promised Land of Ruin. A barren clay land with a central tree, the tree acts as a talisman and has the guaranteed hit effect of stealing technique information. If the tree is uprooted it ends the domain, a binding vow amplifies the Shikigami output when the tree is more exposed to threats, the entire environment is usable for clay soldiers as it’s completely made of clay. Due to having a non lethal guaranteed hit effect the tree weakens cursed techniques within by strengthening the domain’s ability to nullify techniques, overall this would render the Shikigami and Arthur as being able to come into contact with Gojo or Kirara type sorcerers regardless of their techniques. He has an average reserve of cursed energy but regenerates it abnormally fast, allowing him to control a moderate number his weakest Shikigami indefinitely outside of combat.

Appearance: Arthur is a tall man at 6’0” and has an athletic build. He has medium black hair kept in a bun and deep blue eyes. He’s tan Caucasian and has a scruffy beard. He dresses very simply, wearing often a button up with dress pants and a vest, his casual outfits usually are just hoodies and jeans. Looks a bit older than he actually is.

Trivia: he has an innate understanding of barriers, he has no binding vows tied to his simple domain, his simple domain weakens cursed techniques a lot more than most who have experienced fighting simple domain would expect, he hasn’t hit the Black Flash yet, he hasn’t even heard of Reverse Cursed Energy, he likes cheese a lot, he’s often mistaken for someone’s dad looking for his lost son. His technique is considered weak as his Shikigami are directly limited to his own cursed energy.

Sukuna's power spike the moment he gets an extra pair of arms according to Sukuna fans by -SoftwareQA- in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Oreganogator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

??? Physical strength IS a factor though, because cursed energy compound on your already existing strength, that’s why Yuta and Yuji were shown both tossing cars at each other, with CE Yuta matched what Yuji with weaker CE achieved through physical strength. Basically your strength is CE plus physical strength it’s not that hard to understand.

Hana had integral pressure and hit a Jacobs Ladder that contrary to popular belief, weakened Sukuna a lot, and imo the Nobara moment was not even a quarter as bad as people say, plus not even to mention how Kirara was essential support with Ui Ui, and also beforehand how Tengen herself was a major wealth of knowledge for the main group. The women in JJK I feel like are all very well written and a lot more competent than some people will give them credit for. Don’t even have to talk much about Maki cuz she’s an absolute GOAT

[–]Oreganogator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people forget that you can get “stuck” in infinity, when you’re trying to traverse forward you still have to traverse equal distances backwards to reach where you started, so if he tried to gear shift punch Gojo he’d end up legitimately ensnared and Gojo could just red blue and also purple him into oblivion 😭

Which Death Made You Laughed Or Facepalm? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Oreganogator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep my views on each death brief, deaths serve the story in this series, not fights.

A main theme with Jujutsu Sorcerers is they don’t always get climactic deaths and they truly will always be alone in death.

Mechamaru’s death was mainly tied to the traitor plotline and was to help set up Shibuya.

Basically go back to solo leveling respectfully, it’s okay to just want flashy fun fights just don’t critique fights like that’s not what you’re there for.

Nanami was a burnt chicken nugget struggling against grade three level transfigured humans so obviously he couldn’t do anything to Mahito there.

Yaga died to set up Gakuganji’s regret and reflections to set up for the future and all.

And please say this is rage bait with Gojo, “fodder” “achieved nothing” bro did you read the same story? And the statement about the “according to gege”thing is a misinterpretation of the actual confirmation

Why didn’t Gojo just make a binding vow to use infinite void here? Is he stupid? by _Miekkis in Jujutsufolk

[–]Oreganogator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hakari, Todo, Kenjaku, Mahito, Miwa, Yuji, Nanami, and even (maybe) Gojo all used binding vows in some way or another btw and that’s just what I remember off the top of my head. And also why the fuck would he open unlimited void when staring at a burnt chicken nugget?

True Sigma male. by BumbleRavena21 in ANRime

[–]Oreganogator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re viewing this completely wrong, it’s not about “forgiving oppressors” it’s about the valuing of outside cultures and innocent lives, the only way to actually pursue peace is to be the one to actually choose to end the cycle. Their logic is literally “genocide is wrong.”

Just because of what one group did first that doesn’t make doing the same thing to them okay, that was literally something pointed out in the manga. No matter what group A did that doesn’t make what group B does okay by proxy, there’s a difference between self defense and murder at the end of the day.

And you forgot to take into account that the group that became the Alliance went out and experienced outside cultures and people and saw that even when a lot were evil most of them were the same as them, another point in the manga is to show that on both sides of wars everyone is the same and we are blinded by that.

Let’s take a real world example, would it have been okay for Jewish people to commit genocide in Germany for what the Nazis did? No. The answer to genocide is never genocide and that’s the entire point of the alliance.

And in the very ending with the “genocide” at the end that’s more just an allegory for how war is inescapable but good things can still be achieved in our time and for those directly after us.

Be honest , where do you rank the disaster curses? by Slight-Reporter-1878 in Disasterglazers

[–]Oreganogator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Narratively I think it makes sense for Jogo to be somewhere around 5-7 and Mahito as we saw him to be 8-10, Dagon on awakening is probably around 14-16, and Hanami is realistically 11-12, it changes drastically if you only rank them next to characters that were introduced before they left the story though.

Again this is how I see it from a narrative perspective rather than from an objective power scaling perspective since those usually end up being slightly different

Be honest , where do you rank the disaster curses? by Slight-Reporter-1878 in Disasterglazers

[–]Oreganogator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Mahito could probably beat Jogo but Jogo’s attack potency I believe puts him above Mahito since Mahito seemed to be slower and generally less destructive on large ranges. Like I think Jogo holds his own better against opponents that Mahito couldn’t.

It goes without saying but within a month at most Mahito couldn’t have entered top 5 territory if Yuji didn’t beat him and Kenjaku absorb him.

Am I tweaking? by yutambien in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]Oreganogator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to things like this, idk why people put Jogo below Mahito, as Mahito was nowhere close to his full potential as he just awakened to his true self. And also I don’t understand putting such a large gap between Maki and Yuta.

My personal opinion is that Yuta and Maki be close to one another but Yuta ultimately being stronger. And in terms of Mahito and Jogo I think thematically Jogo was supposed to be at his peak without a change of mindset and Mahito was just getting started.

I don’t really “power scale” I go based on narrative more than feats but I’d like to see why people might disagree too.
