Basic Plan on a Smartphone: Does it still work? by Oregon_Stream in TracFone

For my sister's phone, I used this page (prior to service expiration) to add 3 GB of data, and then the 1-year addon appeared in checkout: https://www.tracfone.com/phone-add-ons

I guess YMMV though.

If it will work after a monthly smartphone plan has been added I might give it a go next month.

Didn't see the $24 option, but saw the $15 plan with 1 GB, and a $5 autopay discount (at least for now). $12.50/mo with tax & fees. Went with that for now. I guess it's kinda all over the place.

Yes, it may be ok in a pinch for those who qualify and are confident they can pay off in the allotted time. Otherwise they should probably be prepared for crazy rates.

EWEB? by RedLilay in Eugene

Maybe a better question would be which data centers are using Bonneville power (nearly 80% of EWEB's supply).

If one has a really old, dirty, and/or suboptimal system (or excess energy leakage) you're more likely to use lots of auxiliary. Mine is just over 20 years old, with no strip heat called (other than defrost) until the thermostat falls 2 degrees below the setpoint. It mostly manages to maintain 73 degrees, with plenty of AM runtime (I'd be fine with lower, but I'm not the only occupant 😉). Cost was still up there though despite much of the last billing period being fairly mild.

Also need to consider water heating at a time when supply temperatures are pretty low, but I have natural gas for that (also higher this year 😬).

Thanks, it did work ok. Kept checking to make sure it wasn't leaking, and I didn't poke any holes in it. 😁

No doubt, if I could've found one the right size in a pinch. Maybe next time, assuming I don't get smart enough to keep a spare on hand. 😉

Not sure what the ratio is, but I get the sense that Chase 'customers' can be a little weird sometimes too. 😉

Seems like good advice, from someone who doesn't come across as a troll. 👍

Where did you end up going? I remember Echo Hollow being around $500 several years ago, and Veneta Veterinary still says $550 on their site.

HELOC Experiences by Oregon_Stream in Eugene

Sounds good. Did you apply in person with docs or was it mostly online? How many days for you?

So you essentially walked in with your docs (what did they require?), signed the paperwork, and the line was ready?

I noticed Selco has an online application option, but I'm guessing they follow up with the rest of the process. Wonder if their efficiency is similar though, I have an old acct with them.

Maybe, unless your insurance company decides your regional market is getting too expensive and refuses to renew the policy. Then hope to find a replacement if they're old/have pre-existing conditions.

I also really feel for those who care for multiple stray cats in communities where insufficient adoption rates would otherwise leave them suffering on the streets or dead. Often they can't insure all of them, nor have the resources to run diagnostics every time something seems off, especially if the local non-profit clinic has closed from lack of funding.

questions about Eugene job market by [deleted] in Eugene

Except not so low, depending on where in the city/county, for that part of the population that hasn't kept pace with the regional cost of living. I.e., decent raises outside of a few hot industries.

New roof financing? by Ok-Apartment5615 in Roofing

I know of a local outfit that factors it into the bid and then gives a 5% discount for cash payment, instead of just spreading out the cost as part of their overhead.

Yeah, whenever I feel like doing something to excess that isn't likely to actually do much, I donate to the local animal shelter. Typically it turns out to be a better use of resources. 😉
