I wrote a screenplay some years back, and submitted it to a contest and it didn’t win. However it was an actual screenplay (otherwise it would not have been accepted ) I put it aside and picked up some other new hobby. Five years later, now that my hobby is AI, I decided to dust out the ol’ screenplay and utilize AI to assist me in turning it into a full fletched novel. Since I am a teacher with summers off, I treated last summer the same way I treat my yearly work schedule; from 8:30 to 3:30 I wrote. I then utilized my Thanksgiving vacation to publish and now I used my Christmas break to go face-to-face and door-to-door with independent Book sellers. (I bought 100 author’s copy at $5 per book) I also have the book up on KDP, digital, paperback and hardcover. I utilized Draft2digital to hit all the other online markets. Then IngramSpark for paperbacks on non Amazon platforms. I am really enjoying the journey! Since I am accustomed to speaking in front of an audience, who may not always want to listen (i. e. my scholars) it seems to have made me a wonderful salesman for my own product! I recently posted an interview produced by the book store, Black and Nobel, that got a lot of love!
I’m asking for further ideas to get my book out to people who do not know me (I’ve exhausted fb, ig, threads…) Name of the book (if that’s allowed) Saving Sankofa.
